AI in UniFi is very Hit-n-Miss currently and only half the AI stuff actually support the AI features like LNPR and Facial Recognition. Now couple this with bloody changes in firmwares that have resulted in poor detection and read rates. As for the design of the Bullets, yeah, all suck balls being a PITA to align and get solid. The all metal Pro is even worse unless you grease the parts to stop them galling on threads. Detaections, Audio types, nope, false triggers or no triggers so, a WOFTAM. Enhanced Encoding is nothing more than UBNT finally looking a H265 rather than H264. Leave off with G4 cameras as it's screwed. BTW: Throw the Pole mount brackets away, cheap and nasty cast aluminum that breaks too easy.

Thanks for your input Benny. I love getting all practical opinions on the devices ☺ I agree, the AI features and products are still in their infancy, and we haven't see anywhere near the full potential yet. I have only just got the camera, so I don't know the history of firmware changes in details. Anything you can share? So far, I have only had issues with the number plate recognition occasionally. BTW: I have some pole mounts I have used for 3-4 years and still going strong, but I will check them for cracks now :☺ Thanks again for watching.

@@LarsKlintTech I have been using UniFi cameras since it was called UniFi Video and you could BYO NVR/Server and those days were great. Now, locked into a product that has always been lacking in performance. Different firmwares have affected the abilities of the AI each time and currently, they suck. China is way better at these features. The Pole mounts, if the steel ones, they fine. The cast ally's are weak and break.

Nice comparison, I currently have 5x G4 Pro´s + a whole bunch of G4 and G5 domes, bullets etc. I have considered replacing those G4 Pro´s with either G5 Pro or the AI but I dont really need those extra features, so I will probably go for G5 Pro´s. I prefer no U7 AP's as I have a brain. These are a terrible value for the money and it appears that Ubiquiti is moving in a different direction. At least to date, no longer catering to the enthusiast as they did to some degree with the U5 & U6 lines. Omitting BT so the Protect AIO sensor does not work and restructuring the tier features making what should have been a "Lite" version now the "Pro" version. Rippling up the line. This coupled with the release of higher end gateways and the sudden push for full enterprise grade software features. Features people have been asking for, for many years but Ubiquiti never cared about till now. Allowing them to focus more on enterprise class clients that are far less concerned about their price hikes for AP's with weaker feature sets because they require different conditions be met. If Ubiquiti introduces a well spec'd U7 AP with BT that doesn't cost an absolute fortune (which it probably would) then I will buy into the U7 line. Chances of that appear unlikely at the moment. As of late at conferences and everywhere else, Ubiquiti has been highly over stressing the fact that they have no licensing fees. An aspect that has been the case forever, and while definitely a great selling point, not the highest priority in Ubiquiti's marketing strategies in the past. All these changes point in the wrong direction for enthusiasts. Seriously hope I am wrong.
@LarsKlintTech4 күн бұрын
Are you saying I don't have a brain for liking the U7 Pro? 🤔 I don't think the U7 Pro should have been a lite. Comparing with the U6 lite, it has larger coverage, more spatial streams and faster uplink. I would think that there is a U7 Lite coming, but generally companies start with the high end/more powerful devices, as that is where early adopters buy in. The more mass market devices come after. I agree, it sucks that the BT connection is gone, as I also have the AIO sensor, but that is the only device that uses BT afaik. I can kinda see why it is gone.
@URackADisciprine4 күн бұрын
@@LarsKlintTech Sorry but to me these AP's don't make much sense for non enterprise customers. Which also ties in to understanding the removal of BT. If you understand why, it might become apparent what type of hardware, software and sales models Ubiquiti is shifting to. At the moment, it doesn't appear to include enthusiasts/prosumers. Even the U6 Lite has BT for crying out loud. As for a U7 Lite coming, not sure how much more you could cut the U7 Pro down while maintaining high performance at a low enough price point to make it an enticing offer especially with their new price/feature ratio. With real world WiFi 7 speeds, who would want an AP for example with a 1Gbe uplink or no 6GHz or no MLO or 2x less spatial streams etc. etc. etc. This isn't the subtle upgrade from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6. The real world Tx/Rx capability of WiFi 7 is considerably higher and sacrificing that speed potential defeats the purpose when going with an even lower end AP than the U7 Pro. Relative to WiFi 7's capabilities, the U7 Pro already seems as if it is cut near to the bone. I wouldn't mind paying a higher price for a more feature rich U7 AP as I am heavily invested in UniFi gear. But I won't buy one if it doesn't make sense on most levels. Which is why I waited till the U6 Pro's came out to upgrade. I hope the current high prices with lackluster configurations change, but I don't see that happening anytime soon as they better suit the high end enterprise market.

Great video, very good explanation! It would be great to have more information: 1. Partial backups, when to use and how, after an initial full backup, 2. Delete backups if older than X days or more than x files in backup directory, 3. Check which backup has to get created by the flow according to the given file structure in the backup directory. Do you think it's possible to solve that and can we expect a video on this? Didn't look yet, cause I liked your video a lot.
@LarsKlintTech6 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Partial backups are fine if you do them regularly, and you can run them any time on your system afaik. I prefer full backups because my OCD dictates it 😂 It wouldn't be difficult to set up a process or script that removes files older than a certain number of days. I might do that. I don't understand your point 3.

@@LarsKlintTechThe scan function displays the coverage of the currently selected width but does not make any changes. You need to adjust the width manually. Just grab the RTSPS link, change the prefix to RTSP and change the port to 7447, and remove the GET param that enables secure mode, and they work via RTSP. I was having all sorts of problems with using RTSPS streams in HA, but changed them all to RTSP and they have been rock solid.
