I wish every farmer would take the pride in catching wvery kernel like you guys do. So many lazy stubborn farmers who just get in machine in the fall and go like they have for decades it's literally the entire reason you farm why not get every kernel you can it's worth the extra money and maintainance. That's why a good shop is worth every penny

Messing with co-workers fun LOL. Co-worker just got done doing rod and main bearings in CAT engine. He goes to start it up, I'm beating frame rail bracket, he revs engine up little and had it timed right. He shuts engine off and other co-workers are running down to the truck. OH crap engine coming apart they see me with hammer start laughing and he chasing me around the shop LOL. It was his first and rod and main bearing replacement.

What we have fund that work best to fill gear boxes is a fire extinguisher. Take a old one that is pass time to be replaced which most farm have. Release the pressure in it. take it apart and clean it then paint it blue or a color other than red for the obvious reason so someone doesn't try to use it put a fire. Put a valve stem in the top so you can put air in it after you fill it.

Hey guys, there is a gathering chain timing procedure in the OM not all the chain lug spacings are the same. There are tick marks on the chain guides for timing. They run a lot better timed. - Deere Header Engineer

They aren't running John Deere chains. They are using the ones that came with this the gathering head kit to prevent head loss. So would those chains also have timing marks? My family no longer farms, but all curious.

For pumping that oil in the corn head, try a mityvac. They make a 2 way one with a valve for suction and discharge. You could pump It and just stand there vs. pump, pump, pump, pump. Would be easier on your body!

My compliments to Chet and Brody and Eric for their great teamwork on these items. All three are super troopers. Get your items ordered for the new spray trailer. Anxious to see what it will look like when all out together. I hope Dougo is doing ok with his knee. Thinking of him, hope it gets better soon. Take care Dougo. All for now. Chet I made a tank on a stand that you pour your corn grease into. Plumb into the tank outlet a shaft driven drill pump under the tank and it will zoom that freezes out of their. Odd to find fittings to get small enough for all grease holes but it’s slick and cheap

Get the same sharpeners as lawnmowers and see if you can sharpen the cornstalk chopper blades a few times before you replace them. Carry some sharpened spares in the combine. Along with spare gathering chains and catch brushes. No sickle cutters on a corn head, luckily.😊😉or any Prairie Wind either.

I wonder how the Harvest Sweep compare to the Yield Saver 360, we have one season on the Yield Saver 360's and love them saved a ton of head loss! With the Yield Saver's the whole deck plate is essentially covered with a brush at all times. I would think the Harvest Sweep's could still allow kernels to fall between the deck plates but maybe not you sure seem to like them I'm just curious!
