Dr Sam Webster, I learned head & neck anatomy back at dental school ages ago, and now am studying it once again in preparation for my NBDE part 1 here in USA. Honestly speaking, I have never understood the anatomy of the larynx until I watched your lecture. I will never be able to thank you enough Sir.

@@nazrulsacademy4974 you are describing a structural problem the drugs are to avoid an infection in lower respiratory tract and prevent sinusitis but it is not the solution (if the problem is structural as you suggest although a proper diagnosis would be required) I am a second year Physical therapy student so what my amateur brain tells me is that your soft palate is incompetent either due to reduced functioning or the shape or size of it.

Thank you very much! Being deaf trying to learn to sing I ascertained more tips from this than any vocal coaching video, now I just need to submerge myself in the bath so I can hear my vibrations executing infinite tension levels on all the muscles I can visualise and learn to contract! Watch this space, much love ❤💚💙🙏🏽

Hi Sam, I am a speech and language pathologist intern/graduate student and this video was a really helpful refresher on the structures and functions of the larynx. Yeah, the true and false vocal folds are sometimes a little tricky to remember and all of the cranial nerves that innervate the muscles of the larnyx. I just finished a semester of studies this Fall focusing on Adult & Pediatric Swallowing/Feeding Disorders so understanding all of the structures of the oropharynx, nasopharynx, laryngopharynx and esophagus were important to know very well. I am currently providing speech and language services for elementary and middle school students and it's veyr rewarding. I remember learning about the anatomy and physiology of the larynx during undergrad work and our professor had us build one like the one you showed - nice homework assignment. I have to do a summer externship with adults with dysphagia, aphasia and other disorders. Looking forward to being of service to others. Thank you for this video!

i've been establishing myself as a voice teacher (background in anthropology, linguistics and phonetics) and this immersive approach to the full, 3-dimensional anatomy of the larynx is easily more helpful than any diagram i've encountered in a book or class presentation. i will definitely be showing it to the visual learners among my students going forward. thanks so much

vet student here, there's really a relative lack of online resources for us so I decided to give this a go. There are obviously some interspecies differences between the structures & names, but overall this was so helpful to my understanding & visualisation!! Thank you so much :)
