I've found that tipping $5 on the first "free" drink, you set a very good precedent. This is especially easy if you are playing at the tables (one red chip). Most of the time, the waitresses remember this, and the drinks continue regularly. Whether or not I subsequently give red chips or a $1-$2 tip depends on the pour on subsequent drinks, and of course if I'm winning or not. In a world of $15-$20 cocktails (not including tips), the $5 is inconsequential.

So I was at the 4 queens a few years ago on a craps table and was on a hot 20 minute roll. I was making money, and I was drunk. Really drunk. According to my friend, who to be fair was equally drunk, I was tipping like $10 a drink as I was making a ton of money. He said the cocktail waitress would give me my drink, and he'd watch her circle around a few tables and be back at me in less than 5 minutes. And my drunk ass would order another drink. Both me and that waitress made some money that night. I came back later in the week and she immediately bypassed like 5 people to take my drink order.😆

Only been to Las Vegas once. I learned quick that it's best to avoid the weekends. You will cut that cost in half right away. Secondly, if you do gamble then make sure you use on of the cards to track what you do. You may as well get rewarded for anything you spend there. Don't be shy about asking for upgrades, even those you pay for. Just as he said a lot of times you pay a bit more but end up saving a lot over having booked that particular room/suite in advance.

the real reason casinos want you to use your card is to gain information about your gambling habits to extract as much money as possible....worked as a casino dealer for 20+ years in several states. Who do you think pays for those big fancy buildings and the employees? Hint: it is the people that go inside. What casinos offer as compensation is a portion of your own money back. Why do you think casinos offer free alcohol? It diminishes your level of decision making. Everything a casino does is designed around one simple thing: To extract as much money as possible from you.

On those player cards, find out what properties are part of that resort group. Most resort groups will have a range of properties those cards work with. Some are much cheaper to drink at or have a utility meal at, or you might even split your stay at. Stay at the cheap place during the week then upscale it on the weekend or the day of that band or show that you wanted to see. Save a couple of dollars for a few nights so you can do two in the really upscale place on the days you're going to do more than sleep and shower in the room.

You can add tips for cab drivers on your plastic, while Uber and Lyft do it via your phone. You’ll need cash for bellhops if they bring luggage to your room or if you drop off luggage prior to check in. Casino Royale does not have a resort fee. Circa’s video poker machines in the Sportsbook will dispense drink tickets at random. The bartenders at Circa are excellent with free drinks while you’re playing. ABC Stores are excellent places to get water and soda and stuff.

Very nice (informative) video. Another tip, (that may already be mentioned in the comment section), is to rent a car (well in advance if possible). Unless there is a major convention in town, and not a weekend, you can get a mid-sized vehicle for as little as $50.00 for up to three days. You may have to do some hard searching, but it is out there. Cabs are a RIP OFF!!!! Avoid them unless you are too drunk to drive....... Enjoy friends...!!!

We played some penny slots at the Casino Royale all day on $40 per person. Unlimited free bud light ALL DAY. We tipped the waitress $1 each the first round and then $5 the second round. Then she started bringing 2 beers per person at a time. All of the staff there were friendly and explained how to get the free $20 after losing the first 20.

The best line in your whole video was that Vegas is built on "losers" not "winners", true words have never been spoken that's why I avoid all the flashy neon lights and semi naked "showgirls" strutting thier stuff. If I'm going to throw my money away I'll buy a lottery ticket...

You can Airbnb at The Palms Condominiums to avoid unnecessary resort fees and you're across the street from The Rio and The Gold Coast and right next to The Palms. Good family restaurant in The Gold Coast. I'd Uber around because they're charging for valet that used to be free when I started going in the early 90's. Tip the drivers cash because Uber rips off the tips.

In terms of walking, all the hotels attached to the casinos are located at the back. Hence, if you want to access The Strip, you'll have to cross the entire casino (filled with smoke) before going on the street. The casino portion is longer than you think. (p.s. We have been twice to Vegas and hated it. Interestingly, some of the locals we talked to felt the same way. One or two said that because so many people have gambling problems, they often try to steal or borrow money [and not paying back] from friends. Hence, it was difficult to make good or reliable friends.)

We have been many times and the strip casinos are seldom "filled with smoke", downtown is a different story, but the strip casinos are much better than they were many years ago. Park MGM is actually smoke free now also.

Nothing but real facts! Higher denoms are the way to go. I normally stay in the 5 cent and 10 cent denoms, in between $5-12 spins. Not balling enough to do $50 spins. Yesterday I dropped $600 to win $1600.

The $20 tip is more like a $60 or $120 tip. Totally works still. Verified few months ago. You got a kind of wink and nudge towards the fact that they know that you know this is how it works and what you're looking for. On the regular it takes up to like 15 minutes to check in because they usually walk away, then they walk back and say that they're taking a while and waiting on their manager, then they walk away again then they come back then they say what they can probably do for you. It's a dance but the tip trick still works it's just not a $20 tip trick anymore.

I lived in Vegas for many years. Jordan's tips sound true related to my experience there. The house edges on gaming are very thin. The casinos are in the long haul business. You can have a great time without getting hurt too badly, and you might even come out ahead. But the longer you play, the more you will lose. That's simple probability. Higher denomination machines DO have better odds. But you have to look at the max bet, because that's the only way you can access the best payouts (and, thus, the best odds). His comment about destinations and how far they look is so dead-on. It looks nearby because the hotels are so huge--they look close! But they aren't. Plus, walking the Strip has become a real slog anymore. OMG! Triple-zero roulette? Who would play such a thing? The vig (house edge) for the casino on a single-zero (found in Europe) is about 3.5%. Double that for double-zero. I have to think triple zero is more than 10%! If you play that, you're a sucker. 6-to-5 blackjack is becoming more prominent because players at the lower table limits don't make the distinction. Skilled players and advantage players won't play 6-to-5 because it jacks up the house edge to an insurmountable level. It wrecks you.

Thanks for the up to date deal about Vegas. I probably have been to Vegas at least 100 times over the years and still learn much from your blog! I loved the walking just down the street to New York, NY from up the strip and gee, it was a long walk. Everything somehow looks closer than it really is. Some of that is its not a straight walk on the sidewalk, as the sidewalk can and probably will take up near a casino just to get you into a casino. I of course remember 'free parking' on the strip, but I do understand people abused that, and left their car there for several days and even used it for parking when flying out of Vegas.
@tylerdurden6392 жыл бұрын
Don't get used to trying that. Many places have started marking tires like they do with on street parking where there is a maximum time limit, and they will tow cars that are not registered guest cars. They have small electronic devices that they can plug your plate numbers into that will tell them if you are a guest or not. Look for the signs, if you see one talking about towing cars, you WILL be towed if you are not a guest and are there unmoved for more than a day.

Tip for a free upgrade room - Be passive about it. Put your hand on the counter and have half of the bill sticking out from under your hand so they can see it but you haven't given it to them yet. That is your passive way of letting them know that if you can work your magic I have a nice 'thank you' ready for you'. But I would say make it more than a $20 bill. An upgrade could be a hundred to many hundreds more per night so offering $100 for an upgrade could be well worth it and pay for itself your first night.

Where/how do u buy the bus pass?
@patriciagallant81332 жыл бұрын
@@milliem8051 They are purchased through machines on the street corners if I remember correctly... or perhaps a ticket vendor who also sells tickets to shows. It was quite a few years ago so I can't remember. And maybe they don't have them anymore, but it's something to look into if you plan to visit Vegas. I walked the strip the last time I was there and things had changed with lots of stairs for bridges to cross the street. It was exhausting.

Thank you for this well-structured and informative vid. The warning about playing for comps is almost getting a bit lost somewhere in the middle - but it's so important. Casino operators are very good at the maths and economics of what they're doing - and I guess they beat any attempt to get a higher worth of perks out of them than the amount you lose there. Add to this a totally artificial and controlled environment (I remember reading that some casinos feed added oxygen into the aircon at night to keep gamblers going for longer...), it's not for me. I went there on a US road trip many years ago, spent three nights in a cheap hotel outside casino world and went on panoramic trips to the desert at daytime. Went into two or three casinos for sightseeing... didn't bet a dime.

If you're Canadian and you win a JP of 1200 or more on slot machine, yes the casino takes 30percent but keep all your paperwork as you can get back most of that 30 percent through Refund Management Service RMS.
