This is the Las Vegas A's Tropicana site demolition taken on Monday, May 20, 2024. The video starts on the south west side of the property in the Excalibur parking lot. You can see that they have started demolition of the old motel style bungalows on this side of the property. I then make my way over to the construction wall along Las Vegas Blvd. I held my camera up over the wall to get a better look of the demolition. I then headed over to the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana Ave to show the front tower. They have started to gut the 3rd and 4th levels. I then head on down to the rear tower area. You can see that they have cleared up a lot of the debris by the rear bungalows. The rear tower floor demolition seems to be going about the same pace as the front tower. yes way they would be. that’s how it is in vegas. they tear down old hotels with no concrete plans. the frontier was imploded and to this day is still an empty lot. similar story with the Riviera too. not surprised if the tropicana has the same fate

@@TackyFlamingo We agree. I've lived here since 2005 and have seen a lot in just the time I've been here. Bally's is not well financed to build a new resort and the A's from what I read have "issues". Clark County in all its wisdom, the cow town politicians bend a knee and give $$$$$$$ to any developer with pie-in-the-sky plans. All Net Arena comes to mind. I think that the guitar tower to be build in front of the old Mirage > Hard Rock is a horrible idea. Will ruin the Strip view rooms in the existing tower. Too bad that Wynn does not do something with their land across the street. Amazing that the Tropicana was allowed to turn into a dump. This seems to be the plan for many resorts that become "old". Other than the name; the Tropicana had nothing really left of the original resort that was build except for the Cabana rooms that you feature being knocked down. I am curious to know how much will be recycled and how much will end up in the landfill up at Apex. FYI, it is the nation's largest land fill with 200 more years capacity.

@kennixox262 Sorry, but you are incorrect. All of the original structures were still in use to the last day. The entire casino area is original. The so called BUNGALOWS were called Garden rooms. They were still available till recently. The tower closest to the strip was built in 1979, and the tower facing the pool was built in 1986. In 2011, the Tropicana underwent a 360 million dollar renovation! It turned extremely nice. Every room was remodeled, the casino and restaurants also. All the pools were refurbished too. You were aware of this..yes? All that money and hard work wiped out for just 12 years. When the Trop closed its doors last month, it was in very nice shape, much better than it had been in decades.

They did an auction in the former casino. They had a selection of every fourniture in good condition. Maybe those chaires are not in good condition or they didn't had the demand so they let them there.

I have driven a skid steer it has two joysticks you push the sticks to forward and pull back on the stick to backwards and the foot pedals are for loader

curious why they didnt remove the beds, furnature and curtains an haul them away prior to gutting the rooms. it would be less sorting out of the debris. i could understand leaving the windows, doors and bathrooms. and like so many have said why didnt they allow someone to remove the tropicana signs at the entrance ways. Happy to hear the other day they saved the stained glass from the demolition

I'm happy you got some tickets for a preseason game. Make sure to get to the game early for some tailgating. Also, if you haven't been to the Stadium yet, get in there early before the game to check it out. It's amazing. I hope you enjoy the videos. Thanks!

I think the debris from the Tropicana Bungalow demolition is being taken offsite, due to asbestos/lead contamination. Just a guess, since the Bungalows were the “original” Tropicana buildings.

Nice job getting the camera over the fortress walls to see the west side bungalows coming down. They really are getting the debris out quickly with the multiple trucks lined up ready for removal. It’s going pretty quickly

The elevators are in the center of the towers...I was room service for 43 years...the back tower which was/is called the island and then club tower had guest elevators that have glass so you could look out over Vegas as you go up and down

Did you see the dust cloud form the building they imploded in Kansas City yesterday? It was huge and that building was 1/3 the size of these two.
