A business decision does not mean it wasn't made with a pregnancy absence in mind. The ACES made a decision based on trying to win. They were invested in the coach and the players to win basketball games. Pregnancy for a player that takes up a roster spot is not moving toward that goal. Moving the player was a business decision and the league saw that. The WNBA is NOT the NBA. Players may get pregnant. So, the league needs to adjust the roster space in that regard. This should be a learning stage for owners and the league.

I agreed 100 percent with you until i found out Derica Hamby will be available for game 1 of this season..lol...So she really never missed any significant time..I now think it was a bad move because a Healthy Hamby is much better than a 38 year old Candace Parker

@@melvinyoung2264 you must be smoking crack. Candace is a leader and still has better skills all around than Dearica. Dearica is a hustle role player. I'll take Parker any day over Hamby

@@juanmachado1844 Hi Juan, I only watched Candace once this spring. She looked disinterested. Hopefully once the league is in full swing so will she be. Stay safe.

So now players can complain about legit roster moves being made for business reasons? I suppose Hamby will be able to sue now. Forget that she's 29 and has averaged less than 10 ppg for her career. Forget that she averaged 8.5 minutes and 1.2 points per game during the last postseason. Forget that she's clearly on the back-side of a very meh career. All that's important is that her feelings were hurt by the trade so she whined about it and this joke of a league decided that she was treated "unfairly". It's no wonder that the WNBA still loses money every year with this type of entitled behavior being rewarded. Whatever happened to sports being based on merit? The whiny millennial generation and the ones coming after them are in for a great deal of trouble because they are so entitled. "No one can hurt my feelings or I'm going to tell" seems to be the motto.

Some of these players think they're entitled. Becky has accomplished more in her lifetime than all players combined on the team she coaches. How many other players or coaches have coached in the NBA? These entitled players should feel lucky that they have suckers that want to watch the paint dry.

Dearica Hamby was scared of losing her job! It's that simple! So, she may feel justified in whatever claims she made in order to keep that job. Hamby didn't want to lose her starting spot on the team and be replaced with another player who may have been better. It's only 144 player spots available, and these veterans are not going to just move over to make room for rookies in the league. If these veterans can still play ball...still hoop, they're not going to allow rookies to come in there and take their spots EASILY. Those vets are going to fight tooth and nail to keep those starting spots or any spot on the roster. Many of those veteran players fought for more pay, according to the WNBA Commissioner. Cathy Engelbert said that roster size was not on their list when they signed their last CBA. More money was on their list, according to Engelbert. So, all these rookies getting cut, you can pretty much thank these veteran players for not caring about increasing the roster size. These veterans are making good money, and they don't want to give up that money just to go work a regular 9 to 5 like the rest of us peasant workers out here.

Understand, many players didn't grow up with a silver spoon in their mouth! Therefore, if a player is lucky enough to plant her roots on a roster, and remain on that roster for a significant period of time, she is not going to be willing to just give that up just because of a natural occurrence (i.e., pregnancy). WNBA money is good money. Not as much as NBA money. But it's still good money. None of those women on the Las Vegas Aces roster wants to go back to working some shytty-@ss job like the rest of us peasant workers out here. As WNBA players, they pretty much control their own company, which would be their brand. The WNBA still controls them, but they can also branch out using the influence of the WNBA to become bosses themselves.

Just a matter of time she will be removed as coach. The suspension is temporary so the ACE's can see if and how it may affect ticket sales and or team chemistry.

Not affecting ticket sales. Half of the arena is sold out for the whole season via season seats. The Aces will be fine

Some of these players including NBA players wouldn't be able to make if they had to work a regular job at a company where the owners feel justified paying slave wages. Some of these players like Ja Morant would kill themselves if they went to work for companies where owners don't believe in paying a livable wage These players are lucky.
