Join me as we discover the hidden secrets of Las Vegas in this video, as we explore famous gravesites. From Tony Curtis, the iconic actor known for his roles in The Defiant Ones and The Boston Strangler, to Peter Lind Hayes and his wife Mary Healy, who sang the original Chevrolet commercial jingle, and Robin Leach, the host of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Let's learn about the founder of the Las Vegas sign, Hank Greenspun, and author and UNLV professor, Hal Rothman. Together, we'll pay our respects to those who have left their mark on the city that never sleeps.

Totally agree Diamond Dave , Tony Curtis scared me too in The Boston Strangler , not something we were used to seeing him in but he was very believable

Thanks, friend. I forgot to mention that Mr Warner invited him to read before Tony even thought of getting into show biz. He was just an average bear going on a trip to CA. His lucky day for sure. I'd see him riding around town in a white Firebird. Married a gal younger than his daughter. Lived in a regular house simular to mine.

Thank you for your very informative videos! One thing I learned not that long ago is that leaving flowers on a Jewish grave is disrespectful to those of that faith. This is a reason that people leave pebbles or coins on a Jewish grave instead. WWII is what made Henderson, NV. When the Basic Magnesium plant was built and opened, Henderson incorporated. My grandparents, C.G. and Velta Shay, lived there from just before WWII until 1968. Both were well-known in Henderson. They are both interred at Palm mortuary cemetery. The chapel there was used in the James Bond movie, "Diamonds Are Forever". My grandmother was the highest level secretary at Nellis Airforce base until she retired in 1967. My grandfather worked for the casinos and was also in construction. He was permanently disabled falling while he was a foreman while they were building the Tropicana, maybe in 1955. The last construction project he was involved in was overseeing the construction of the Masonic Temple in Henderson while he was a crutches and still recovering from his fall. Both my parents lived there during WWII, after my father got out of the U.S. Navy. Both worked at the Basic Magnesium plant before moving to Fresno, CA after the war. My parents were married in Boulder City, as my mother wasn't about to get married in Las Vegas and I don't think that there was a church to get married in at Henderson at the time. Even back then Henderson was a small desert town and driving to Las Vegas on the old Boulder Hwy. wasn't a short trip. When my grandmother was interred at Palm in 1971, it was about the only thing out there. It is now dwarfed by buildings around it.

Love it! Thanks for sharing the history of your family. And for informing me of the growth of Henderson. It makes sense and the dates are very accurate. I'm thinking Basic Mag is the same area or maybe the reason there is Basic High School. Is she interred at Palm in Henderson just off Boulder Highway?

DD, Robbin Leach inspired me to have a champagne and caviar picnic with a girl out of my league. I brought the champagne she brought the caviar and it was awful. She thought she was getting Mr show business, she did, a real life George Costanza. So men, remember to stay in your lane and don't get above your rasin'
