I just stumbled on your channel. We just retired here in LV and live just up the street from the Rampart and tried their Hawaiian night buffet. I was originally born and raised in Hawaii and there wasn't much Hawaiian foods. I was disappointed but glad there are other options for Hawaiian food here in LV. I did try their poke and huli huli chicken and it was okay. Enjoy watching you and your review. 👍

Looked like the most Hawaiian thing there was your shirt lol. If they're going to do themed night, they need to do it. Sprinkling their normal fare with pineapple just doesn't cut it. The short rib looked like Gandhi's flip flop (favorite Ramsay one-liner). You did a good job describing the food while pointing out the good in even the bad food. I like that. But like the fish,iIf you can find the good, what else can you say. Great review. I however, would skip Aloha night.
@VegaswithShin2 жыл бұрын
Overall I thought it did the job for a Saturday night buffet for locals. It's a bit far for me so I wouldn't go too often but it's good enough for the price that I'm not offended by it. And yes, gandhi's flip flop!!!! Lol, classic meme Ramsay. Thanks for watching!

Your videos are cool. I have only seen 1 so far, (but plan on seeing more), and you may have already answered this question but...how do buffets work nowadays in Las Vegas? I mean, is every single buffet, all you can eat? (meaning you can eat, then sit for a while, and then go back for more, unlimited)? Also, what is the average price for buffets? Thanks.
@VegaswithShin2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed. All the buffets in Vegas are now self serve, all you can eat, though some implement a time limit. The most popular buffets typically have them, I don't believe the Rampart mentioned any kind of time limit when I walked in. Average price for a breakfast/brunch buffet is anywhere from $20-$50. Most dinner buffets range from $35-$80. Hope that helps!
@reader66902 жыл бұрын
@@VegaswithShin Thank you. I'm just wondering, if I were to travel to Las Vegas, what would be most cost effective, food wise: buffets or not. I recall the days in Las Vegas when buffets ran all the time (breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc., but, I guess that's not the case anymore.

As a Hawaii local that now lives in Vegas,I was very disappointed in the Rampart Hawaiian buffet it's what we call haolefied (no pun intended)lol wasn't the best... Silverton Polynesian buffet Saturday nights was much better and had a lot more Hawaiian options like lau lau,lomi lomi salmon,haupia,kulolo etc buts it's unfortunate they didn't survive the pandemic shutdown of 2020 they have been closed ever since😭
@VegaswithShin Жыл бұрын
Yeah, as some other commenters have pointed out, it mostly felt like they're standard buffet with some Hawaiian additions. I hear the Palms themed nights have a Hawaiian night from time to time and it's supposed to be solid. I'll have to try and catch it sometime. Thanks for watching!

Not sure throwing some Huli Huli chicken and Kaluah Pork on a buffet constitutes a “Hawaiian Night” but you do you Rampart🤔
@VegaswithShin2 жыл бұрын
I think between the salad area and the carvery they had a decent selection but the other half was relatively standard. Thanks for watching!
@larrydingethal8406 Жыл бұрын
I think you should've sued that buffet for false advertising. What was Hawaiian about that buffet other than than huli huli chicken? They didn't even have the option of cabbage or poi for your kalua. They coud have went the Filipino route and done a Lechon style pig. Far too little fish offerings representative of Hawaiian cooking stlye. Missed opportuniry with the plain fried chicken. Mochiko chicken or even karaage would have been a better choice, or even just plain teri chicken. egg drop and miso for the soups - HA! Where's the saimin and wonton mein? A grilled pineapple on the carvery station (ROFL). I've never visited my relatives on Kauai where we didn't grill up a cheap cut of meat in a char siu marinade. What a joke this "Hawaiian" buffet is.

You yet "huli huli" is "turn turn" in Hawai'iam. It is favorite for fundraisers, baby luaus. The barbeque is a bit hotter than on the mainland and so you have to keep turning the chicken and brushing the hot side with shoyu based liquid to cool it down and slowly add sheen without ending up with dry chicken.
