@@NinthIslandConnection 2009 😬 1st time was 1988 for my 21st birthday.Mirage was being built and I stayed at the Tropicana. I went 2 to 3 times a year until 2009. Put off some surgeries and recovering from one of them now so I'm looking forward to hopefully 2023 or 2024. Thanks for all you do 💕 🤞 I love your channel and I'm glad I found it...

I always ride it when visiting Las Vegas, but as the stations at the strip resorts are so far from the casino floors it isn’t efficient travel. If staying at Sahara, Westgate or at the Convention Centre it’s good for travel to the strip. It would be more viable as a method of transport if the extensions to Downtown and the airport were built.

Totally agree, but they are building the underground people mover that is supposed to connect all the way to downtown. We'll see though!

@@NinthIslandConnection I tried out the Tesla Loop on my November trip. It’s open between Resorts World and the Convention Centre. An interesting experience. It’s certainly a travel concept but I reserve judgement until more tunnels are open. The loading into cars, although efficiently managed, seems a little labour intensive to be economically viable.

It’s mostly reliable but they have technical problems and it shuts down from time to time. On my last trip to Vegas we sat there for a half hour and there was some sort of garbled announcement about problems on the loudspeaker but no one really had any idea what was going on. I recommend buying a pass online in advance to safe time and money. Getting a hotel on or near the monorail is a real plus.

Las Vegas is famous for lots of walking. Many hotels have long walks from the lobby to your room. 🤔 Wear comfortable shoes please.

I have NEVER understood why the monorail does not go to the airport!!! I heard that the taxi driver's unions would not allow it as it would take revenue away from the drivers. Anyone know if this is true.

Probably the same reason why they haven't built an effective mass transit system here in Los Angeles, gas companies would go broke overnight!

I have not ridden it in a long time. They used to have a 5 day pass for about $35 if I remember correctly. For me, that was the way to use it. Will cost you $10 just to get there and back. And for me, I rode it a lot when there. So it pays for itself quickly. Just a pain being in the very back of the casinos to get to it and the Strip.

Someday will be back to Vegas,thinking maybe in 24,will see,I come to Vegas,every 10 to 15 years,been coming since mid 60's,but now that am older,be nice if showed how people with disabilities get around?? Since things change as you get older. I could just rent a car,and by pass the mess,but parking has gotten worse.

If you're trying to catch it from Bally's plan on walking for what seems like forever. Same is true at Harrahs which used to be easy but since they put in Caesar's Forum, now you got to walk a mile

Thank you so much for the kind words! Other than the Tram in Vegas and airports, I've only been on the trains in NYC so I didn't know what to expect! I would definitely use it regularly if i were staying on that side of the strip. And Carlos didn't mind either, lol!

Good Idea, Bad Location. It's great if your destination is the Convention Center or from there to your hotel but otherwise it's not that great. If your staying on the strip, it's a long walk from the strip out front to the stations. You have to go all the way to the back of these huge properties and farther. It would have made more sense to erect the line in the middle of the strip where everyone could get on it quicker. Oh Well, guess they either didn't have the room for it there or they just didn't want to block the views.

From what I know, the casinos & hotels didn't want the monorail to block views. Hotels charge extra for "strip views".

It's a shame because it just is pretty much forgotten about unless you plan to use it before you arrive in Vegas. Happy New Year!

Just an FYI buy one get one half price monorail tickets are available on My Vegas, unfortunately the BOGO offers are gone ................We love the monorail but it doesn't always work for us depending on where we stay

Thanks for the tip! Thats the thing with the monorail, it only works if you're on that side of the strip. If not the walk is not worth it.

planning on staying at the Sahara and using the monorail to get to the Strip. Which stop has the shortest walk to the strip where most of the action happens? like miracle mile shops

Great question! Unfortunately all of the stops are a little walk to the strip. I would recommend the stop at Flamingo, that puts you right in the center of the action, once you get to the strip. Hope this helps!

Very nice video! How long is the entire ride during the daytime? And what is the price of one round trip ticket for one adult? Are you required to exit the train at any of the stops besides at the very end?

He said about 15mins. For one day it's pretty cheap. But if you've booked a hotel they'll probably have a rewards club you can sign up for and they'll give you a link that'll have a discount for the monorail

I don't actually want to ride the monorail. I'm just trying to figure out if I can get from the ground at the Sahara stop over to the hotel through the monorail bridge without actually buying a monorail ticket. Does anyone know the answer to that question?

It's possible to make your way through the Sahara hotel toward Paradise Rd. Then up an elevator and across the bridge over Paradise. The ticket booth is one level above the monorail platform. To get down there, you'll need to purchase a ticket. Las Vegas residents, with ID ride for a dollar.

@@razcue1 Thanks for the feedback. I took a chance and rode the bus to the Monorail station, and I had no problem going from the bus stop up to the monorail and over to the hotel without having to buy a monorail ticket.
