California oddly I have been asked for a Valid ID to verify address and name to vote in person.

NOPE. Very few states require photo ID. Many require NO ID. The only states that require some kind of ID are red states. Search for "voting requirements by states" and IMAGES. Use DDG or something other than Google. Most people are shocked by how loose the requirements are. If states require photo IDs, they're accused of racism. It's CRAZY.
