Yup! I was a carpenter on the aria tower @ city center. a bunch of us were waiting for the manlift on second level,when we noticed half a body fall 50’ft in front of us we freaked out thinking someone has jumped from high above,it turns out that the manlift operator was cut in half by the manlift counter weights as he was inspecting them 😢i was traumatized for about a year after that.

Unfortunately us union workers witnessed a lots of deaths in big las Vegas construction sites, that wasn’t the only one I witnessed😢all I was able to do is think about my safety before work and keep myself safe. A lot of construction companies try to rush workers and that’s when accidents happen.

I moved here in 96 and it was family friendly but still had the old school vibe of take care of the locals and make sure your patrons are happy. Now it is absolutely an overpriced , underwhelming experience. They just don’t know when to stop. They stopped doing local specials and charge for everything. No more $2.00 drinks even on well liquor, no more cheap food, no more buffets, or only a few left. Locals used to be the mainstays and now many of us don’t even go down to the strip. We hang out at off strip casinos and have fun there

I know someone that worked building City Center and he says more than 6 died and can tell you how some of them died with one dying a in a messy way and his wife also worked on the job site working the manlifts. also he told me about a laborer that died building Trump Tower out there and he fell down a elevator shaft after messing with broken equipment he was told not to touch.

My brother in law was on that build. And my take on Vegas road construction. I think they just like to build or “improve” roadways just to dig it all back up and “improve” again. I swear they have dug up the same street by my brothers house every year. It’s like the road construction there will finish and then 6-8 months later they dig it right back up. 😂
