Tyson Bagent has one of the quickest releases for a rookie I’ve seen. And he always knows the defense, no issues calling plays at the line and avoiding pressure, good dual threat too. Need to see him uncork it though.

Was this man living under Field's shadow the whole time? If this keeps up, bears could have a strong late-season showing (maybe see 'em get to .500 first?) I just like good football, so when bad teams show improvement, I'm here for it.

Good decision making. If he can't throw down the field he'll get burned later by a competent coach/game-plan. Some real pass protection might help. Hopefully some time on the bench will help Fields study up and work on his reads, it's hard to work on that while also trying to win games.

Bears won clock battle 34 minutes - 25 minutes, meaning the offense was nothing spectacular but instead efficient and grinding out yards + time. Offense committed no turnovers and allowed ZERO sacks. Offense did its part to keep defense off the field and allow them to be rested. JF fanboys will however claim all sorts of other things to defend their anointed one.

The Bears’ defense really helped a young quarterback like Tyson Bagent out by getting after it. Bagent was efficient, not trying to be spectacular, but did his best to protect the football, and they stayed with the running game. Overall, solid performance

Bagent looked better throwing the ball in his 1st career start than I’ve ever seen Fields throw it. Goes through his progressions, keeps his head down field, has mobility and can throw on the run, and had multiple accurate tight window throws.

The defense didn't get a lot of pressure on Hoyer. Late quarter interceptions when down do not spell a great defensive performance. Bagent did extremely well, but the stars on offense were Forman and Moore. Credit those guys more than the defense.

So basically Fields has better physicals, but has a 64 in awareness... And bagent is a game manager who uses his eyes to trick the defense with an 80 awareness. EDIT: Yes, we have yet to see if he has deep ball power or ball placement, but from what we saw today he makes pretty good throws to the open man, and decent throws on the run. Lets see what he can do the next few weeks.

Think it’s been pretty well established that the line makes good RBs. That’s why nobody is giving any contracts to them anymore unless you’re a dynamic playmaker. The real difference maker was Jenkins coming back from injury. Don’t think it’s a coincidence that we average 170+ on the ground with him in and under 100 with him out… even last week when he was playing half the drives you could tell the difference when he was in

@@anthonytaylor7928 It was reminiscent of that 1985 team! (yes, I am old enough to remember that team and the "Super Bowl shuffle!) Pound the rock and play solid D, passing is a second or third or fourth option when needed. It felt like old-school grind it out football to me, kind of ugly but a decisive victory. With regards to Bagent, while it is still early, talent is talent. Doesn’t matter if you are playing D1 or D3 in college. I think too often too much emphasis is placed on where you went to school, if you were a walk-on versus a blue chip recruit, where you went in the draft or if you were an undrafted free agent. Hope he does well. Actually looks a lot more poised than Fields when you consider Fields has been in the NFL for 3 years and Bagent 3 months…

Bagent is the Qb 1 for Chicago. He has shown more control and understanding of the offense in 1 game than fields has shown in 3 years.
@ThatGuy-nv7cx

Maybe because the offense was designed for a qb like him and not around JF? The OC has been trying to shove fields in a pocket passer box for the last 2 years. If they actually designed plays to his skills like the ravens did for Jackson he’d be much better. So much for that “creative genius” though

@ThatGuy-nv7cx Lol the offense wasn't designed for "a qb like him", he's had to make TONS of adjustments to his game for the Bears. The difference here is Bagent is actively doing his best to make those adjustments and fit into the offense, instead of just continuing to play HIS way, and whining that the offense wasn't tailor made to his style of play.
