Good acting, bad writing. The protagonist made a number of tactical errors; in the final confrontation he should have worn a black shirt for less visibility, and he should have taken his jacket off and used it to defend against the knife.

Very enjoyable, thanks for posting. That was Mary Beth Hughes, usually blonde or auburn , with black hair as Mabel Dooley. For a brief time she added an "e" to Beth, as in the credits of this film. Always fun to see Coleen Gray too. Very cute and sexy in a kind of emotional, nervous way. She looked great in her glasses too!

Very interesting footage from 1959's Vegas, which I have never been there so it was great seeing it as it originally was. Also, excellent heart warming stories with positive endings, depicting not only the dark side of gambling, but also some of the good things that can come out of it if dealt with in a non greedy, humane n sincerely good way. Excellent!!

The shot at 38:21 of the motel, is the now gone Mirage Motel, which as one can see, had the attraction of the swimming pool with the see through circular glass port holes. In 1987, Steve Wynn, bought the rights to the name 'Mirage' from the owners, so as he could name his transformative hotel/casino such. After purchasing the name, the property changed their name to the Glass Pool Motel.

Why would the gambling addict's husband trust her to handle the sale of their property? People do that sort of thing in real life too. Trust a person they know have a money problem and expect them to be responsible when they never were before.
