I lived there for 10 years. Most of that water gets channeled under the lake through two enormous culverts. It flows downstream into Lake Mead. The silt and debris settle out. When Lake Las Vegas needs topping off, they pump Lake Mead surface water upstream to Lake Las Vegas.

Thanks for mentioning that because obviously the Lake isn't that muddy. I was looking at Google Maps trying to figure out what was going on. Now I know!! :)
