Fascinating. Wonder if enclosing a laser diode in a magnetic field, would increase the stimulated emission, by extending electron trajectory. In other words, the magnetic field would extend the time that an electron, spend in the depletion zone. Further more, you can have a circularily polarised photons output.

Maybe not because the total energy released by the electron is still the same. It might change the wavelength.
