Thank you for this explanation! I was researching how thunderbolt optical cables work and apparently they have VCSEL laser modules inside the cable housing. This presentation helped me to understand. It's mindblowing that we are at a point where 6 of such VCSEL lasers can be embedded in the plug end of a cable, along with a whole heap of other electronic components to not only send laser light signals but also to receive them from 6 lasers at the other end of the cable and to do signal correction and interpretation. Absolutely amazing
