Your laser room is awesome! To pick a next machine, it would be a toss up between a fiber laser for faster engraving and CO2 for faster cutting. If I were you and only had your available space, then a desktop CO2 like the Thunder Bolt would be the first machine I would look at -- it's Lightburn compatible which is very important for businesses and since you're already using it daily, and is very fast with a 1,000 mm/s engraving speed.
@WyldeWillow

Love the thunder bolt and would love one for this room but I am actually looking for something bigger I have a garage and another room in my house I could use for it so size isn't really an issue. Love your videos by the way. I have learned alot from watching you.

I like your organization. You are proof that diode lasers can make you money. I have 4 diodes, 80 watt co2 and a 50 watt jpt fiber. I prefer my roly lasermatic 10 watt diode the most. I like your remotes but am surprised they work individually. I have stanley version of that and my 2 are exactly the same. If i press the top button on one remote it will turn on both the top position remotes. I will look into the brand you have. Very nice office space you have!!
@WyldeWillow
@WyldeWillow 11 ай бұрын
The remotes are a small thing that makes life so much easier. These have always worked perfectly side by side with no interference and they are reasonably priced on Amazon.

Great job on your first video. Love the set up and the lights. Lightburn is a great program and just when you think you've got it, there's more to learn. I've also had a Custom woodworking business for several years but lately I've really been focusing more on laser engraving within the last year and a half. I love my XTool D1 Pro lasers 10W, 20W and my F1. The F1 is super fast and versatile - I think you'd like it. I recently began doing leatherette patches and I just bought the same VEVOR heat press that you have. I would be interested in seeing your modifications to your heat presses and learning more about custom made patches and how you've grown your business. Really look forward to your future videos! Keep up the good work.

Lastly I would like to say how nice it is to see a pretty host on KZbin regarding lasering rather than some unwashed fella with 5 day stubble!! Your Husband is a very lucky man,so make sure he knows that. Many Thanx and kindest regards, Paul "Gus" Gustar.

I am going to be doing a video on tips for growing you business soon. One thing is it be very active in you community. Donate to raffle and other events. One thing that really helped me grow was to give out cheap Christmas ornaments made out of 3mm plywood with my cities name and a design that represented my city on local Facebook groups. On the back I put a QR code that linked to my Instagram page. I got so many followers from doing that and it cost me a sheet of cheap plywood and some of my time. As far as items to sell hats are by far my best money maker. Keep an eye out for my videos on growing your business I think it will really help you.

I refurbished a 50W Co2 laser over the summer, and love it. I was only able to get s 500 x 300 mm work surface, since I set up in one of our kids' old rooms, but we are enjoying our empty nester hobby! My wife was impressed with what I've been making, so now i have a complete setup with sublimation as well. Still trying to organize it all in my laser room: Heat press, hat press, mug and bottle press, vinyl plotter, sublimation printer, laminator (planning to make photo keychains with it as part of the system), and my leather sewing machine. I would love to add a fiber laser engraver to also do firearm decorative engraving, but i doubt i could fit it! 😂 Good luck with your channel!

To be honesty the rotary work I leave mostly to my husband. I can do them but they are so frustrating that he usually steps in. He has alot better luck with the Xtool 20w compared to the 10w atomstack. But the Xtool is always running other things so we do all the rotary work on the 10w. Don't be afraid to ruin some cups and do test grids on them.

Thank you for sharing as I'm still in the learning phase on lasers. To return the favor, pull your computer forward about 2 to 4 inches to allow better airflow and it will most likely last a bit longer (as it will run a little cooler). (The power supply doesn't look like it has much room to breathe.) If the case has fans or venting on the bottom for intake as some due nowadays, you can also add something to lift it about one inch off the floor which will help it too. Good computers can be expensive and giving them good airflow is one of the best ways to keep them running.

I think you did great in your first YT video. You seem very comfortable talking to the camera. I hope you don't give up your woodworking because woodworking and lasers go well together. I am glad to see you are not dressed in barely shorts and the half-cropped tops or bikini tops. Some channels dress to attract viewers with more skin than clothes. Their skills are suspect. I watched your interview with Laser Everything and saw the truck sign you made. That was some sign. I hope you charged a fortune because you deserved it. Keep up the good work.

Great video. Looking forward to your next. I would like to see the hat process. I do a lot with my neje max 4 and will be adding a co2 soon. I never thought about hating business like what you have going on. Great idea and way to make it happen with those lasers. One thing I will mention, if you get a bigger laser, and start cutting, think about using air assists from a compressor vs the fish pump they usually come with. Life changer even on diodes.

Working on getting a hat video out with laserable acyrlic patches soon. Editing it is making me go a little crazy but It will be out any day. Leather videos will be soon too. When I get a CO2 it will probably be in my garage and I will deffently hook it to my compressor at that point. Thanks for the advice.

Great set up! C02 is similar, just way more power, more speed and often larger bed size. For hats you wouldn't need a high wattage co2 the smaller ones will quickly do leatherette just fine, but it would definitely speed up your process and they also use lightburn so you have the software already. Subscribed, can't wait to see what comes out next! good luck!

I would love to see a diy on an effective exhaust system. Plus, how do you keep the odors out? I have a premade enclosure with a fan thats set to vent out the window, but it doesn't keep the smell out of the house. I would love some tips on how to better deal with it.

Great job. Mostly sticking with one products is smart. I have yet to do that. I like your work area. It is neat and orderly. I have yet to do that either lol. I am looking forward to your next video. I got a laser a little over a year ago. When I learned I could not cut or engrave acrylic on my Xtool D1 Pro 10 watt I bought a 40 watt co2 (the cheap one). And it works fine for my needs. I am always watching and learning from laser videos and occasionally I am able to help others. I think you did a fine job communicating so no worries there. You will be fine. I appreciate you and other who share. I just subscribed as well. Have you watched "That Mom with a laser" omg she is so helpful. Don't know how she does all her laser work and her videos but wow. Remind people to like and subscribe at some time in your video as I almost forgot to.

I think you did great for your first KZbin video! You seem very natural at it. I like the little station for turning on the lights and air assist and everything. Quick question...do you always run the air assist for everything you do in the engraver? I always use my air assist but I find that I keep forgetting to turn it on before I start the engraving, which is really frustrating.
@WyldeWillow
@WyldeWillow 11 ай бұрын
Yes I always run it atleast a little bit to help keep the lens clean. There is a way on lightburn(if that's what you use) to have a reminder screen pop up after you hit start and you can put what ever info you want in there. I have mine say things like don't forget air assist, check focus or what ever else you forget often. Go into decive setting then Select "enable job checklist". Then hit edit and put in what ever you need to be reminded about.

@@WyldeWillowThanks for the tips! At the moment I'm using the Creative Space software from xTool, which I'm not sure has the reminder feature. I'll have to look into it! I'm currently in the process of building something that automatically turns on the air assist for me since I forget so often 😅

Hey and welcome to the laser fun! To answer your question about having a C02 laser, it's a bit more particular and fussy. When they work, they work awesome. But, when they need attention, they take time to dial in to perfection. They are easy enough to repair but alignment is very time consuming. Once you figure it out, then you're good to go. Wish I was better at videos like yourself. I'm more of a make something and enjoy the process kind of guy.

I would love to see how you do the multi colored leather patches, also the work that was in your diode laser was that just a printout that you were cutting out with the laser or did you laser that in different colors too. I just bought a 100w Co2 laser and a 60w fiber got a great price on the Co2 laser from RM laser and its super fast! Look into lone start adhesives if you haven't already they got some super dope letherettes and their adhesive is great! Good job on your first video.

In the laser was a product called rowmark. It's a 3 layer plastic that is white but can laser red or black depending on how deep you engrave it. I will be releasing a video on those patches this weekend.

Great first video Emily!! You did a great job. Yes, talking in front of a camera can be difficult but i think you'll get more natural at it as you do more videos. Subscribed! I am trying to build a lassr business. I have three 10w lasers but only use one right now aince im still trying to get my feet on the ground and build a "portfolio". I see you have a Xtool D1 Pro 20w. Is that the normal bed size for it or is there an extension kit for it? It looks like you can make a larger project on that 20w comapred to your AtomStack. I'd like to see some videos of the making of a leatherette patch and application to a hat. Have you done an acrylic hat patch? I'd also like to see how you make an LED sign. That would be cool just ro even make for a game room. I apologize for all the questions but your video is actually inspiring me to get myself further along into making my laser business! One last question...haha...where did you get your LED lights? Thanks and continued success!!
@WyldeWillow

Yes i do have an extension kit on my Xtool. I had an extension on my atomstack as well but took it off since its dedicated to tumblers now. Yes I have done alot of acyrlic patches and I am actually releasing a how to videos on them this weekend. Led sign how to video is high on the list of videos I will be doing. The Led lights are govee lights. You want the RGBIC ones if you want the cool color blending and chasing effects. Dont mind the questions at all but I have to say I was not expecting so many comments so its been hard to keep up but I am here to help as much as possible.
