Thanks Sam this was really cool! The best part is being able to cut something so small and still be able to read it!

Hi Sam May thanks for this video, I’m a silversmith and jeweller here in the UK and did a load of engraved work by hand, now i Have osteoarthritis in my wrists and fingers and can’t hand engrave, i recently purchased an atomstack for engraving and illustrating on sterling silver - so many thanks for all the information and guidance, i had origanlly thought I had made a mistake but this video and your other have really laid my mind at ease so a BIG thumbs up brother!

Hi, how would you say the engraving holds up over time? I'm looking for a new extra engraver but i'm in doubt over how it will hold up during everyday wear?

i'd personally be curious to know how deep the engraving is and how much polishing it'll take before wearing off again

To engrave on a curved surface, could you mount the item in something to hold it that you could rotate? Engrave part, rotate, engrave, rotate, until done?

Hey Sam I do leather work, custom holsters . What type laser might I use to mark leather with?

You’ll want a diode (around the 450nm wave length I think) or CO2 laser for that material.

Sam, could you please review hot water tanks? My current system is part of my propane boiler system in my home's unfinished basement. I need to change my whole system because the propane is becoming too expensive. From your experience, could you please tell me about your hot water heaters and what system you have now? Thanks. I need to change the boiler out too, but that’s a complete problem I will deal with after I have the water water heater problem solved and may best be left to a good professional because it is going to be complicated. Thanks, again.

Great video. Is there anyway to make the engraving white on any of the metals that you have tested?
@Samcraftcom2 жыл бұрын
Not that I have found yet. There are a handful of videos on taking a 1064nm laser and tweaking settings to get some variance of colors, but not white that I have seen yet.

If you wanted to test gold (not saying you should or need to, but if you wanted to) getting some gold leaf should allow you to test. It is very thin and fragile though. Maybe testing something that has been gilded with leaf first, then test? Just ideas. Great test and video! Thanks for sharing

I would agree totally -- cost is a prohibiting factor for these right now. I'm sure costs will adjust with more competitors entering into the 1064nm arena.

This is the engraver that can actually engrave in color correct?
@Samcraftcom2 жыл бұрын
I have not tried that yet, and haven't seen others do it with this model. It takes messing with the focus and frequency (from what I've seen in other videos), but that may or may not work with this machine... may be time to test that out!
