I've been using my blue light laser machine in my mobile office for 3 years now and had to replace my laser head after 2 years. I saw this laser on TikTok and thought to myself this might be a good addition to my tools. I like that it's enclosed. Definitely would lay for itself in a month being that I'm here in bust Orlando, FL and my customers pay for convenience and quality work. Laser pod has a small footprint so it will free up space on my work bench jnside the van. Thanks for the video

This process seems extremely tedious. I think I’ll just continue to replace the housing instead.
@MobileSentrix Жыл бұрын
Its tedious for sure but also a good way to save money and replace only what is needing to be replaced.

One would have to have a fair bit of back glass replacement jobs to justify purchasing this product. For someone like me who gets one in every few months, replacing the housing is a much more economical choice.

Yes, Just search "Laser Pod Protection Mold" on MobileSentrix.com

please share this new o-ring link. I could not find on your website.
Would other molds like M-Triangel work with this machine? There are some molds I haven’t seen restocked like the iPhone 11 and other various models.

Thinking about purchasing the Laser Pod 3.0.... Does anyone have any feedback? Do you have to take the phone apart (screen, logic board, etc out? I know he doens't do it in the video but I've seen both. For me, if you have to remove other components it defeats the purpose...just as well to replace the entire housing now. Looking to use this for the XR and up..

Based on these comments I have to question how much y'all charge for back glass replacements. We've been open for 10 years, and charge $249.99 - $349.99 for most of these iphone back glass repairs. WAY cheaper than replacing the device. We do about 3 or 4 a week. This machine pays itself off in a month or two MAX
@adriancardenas1079 Жыл бұрын
You don’t have to disassemble the phone first?
@Mazlie Жыл бұрын
using just heat and a blade is way faster and cleaner.
@MobileSentrix Жыл бұрын
I agree but I've seen to many cases where people let the heat get away from them and they mess things up, so until someone is ready for that the slow and careful method is the better way.

Since most of us watching this have our own repair biz's, I'm gonna say, this convinces me NOT to do this type of repair even more. New 3.0 model $1800 - Various molds and small parts for all models of iPhones, gaskets, glue, tools, glass for say 100 iPhone back glass repairs - $700. Time per each phone on average (assuming pro level efficiency... ) 2 hours. So $2500 and 200 hours of labor at say a low paying rate of $20/hour so now I have $6500 invested into this. We're going to add 1K just for variance in labor rates, small parts, cost variance, etc. etc. So that brings us to this being roughly a $7500 initial investment for the first 100 back glass replacements. Which means just to make a little bit, you have to charge $100 per repair, which is more than half of what replacing the screen would cost on average with part and labor. You'd net about $2500 from 200 hours worth of repairs which is about $12.50 profit on each repair. I don't call that profitable right from the get go. Now to be fair, the next 100 repairs are only going to cost you Labor, 4K, supplies, $700 (just for the sake of argument) and 1K variance which is assuming the machine is still functioning just fine. At $5700 cost you will make $4300 for 200 hours of repair work, or $21.50 profit per unit. Which is better... but... (Also assuming that if you don't spend the 700 each set in supplies, you can eek a little more profit out of it over time, but nothing above 24/unit @ $200 minimum supply cost in 100 unit batch) Lets compare back housing - 100 units is about $4000 - $40 average. You need tools that you likely already have as a repair shop. If not, fine $100 for those tools and adhesive gaskets for screens. We'll say "gutting" takes about an hour on average, and using the $20/hour pay rate that puts us to $6100. Adding in the variance again brings it to $7100. If you charge the same rate of $100 per repair, you come out with $2900 profit after 100 units, or $29 profit per repair hour, which is over 200% more profit than replacing the back glass in house initially, and on average about 20-30% more profitable in the long run vs rear glass continuation. This margin will not change greatly over the course of each set of 100 repairs. Sure, you don't get a fancy laser machine, but you don't need one anyway when replacing the housing. If literally ALL you did was do back glass housing replacement, to resell the housings, then it MAYBE, and I mean MAYBE might be profitable in large quantities like 1000 units or so, assuming the machine doesn't break down by then. But for the average small repair company, this is not something they want to look into unless they just have oodles of money to burn. It's not a great ROI, and even though you can get bragging rights, you get additional benefits when replacing housings, such as removing all cosmetic damage also, which customers care more about than your fancy tools. Over everything else, "we" as in all of us in repair, are trying to come up with ways to correct something stupid a manufacturer designed. That responsibility doesn't fall on us. Yes we want to help our customers fix what they need, but there is a point where we have to realize that no one can or should be everything to everyone. If there was a place to send people local to my biz that specialized in just this type of repair, I'd be happy to do it. But I don't think everyone needs one of these, and you should really look at what your aims, goals, and profit direction is before you buy into this device, as with any offering in your business dealings.

@MobileSentrix Жыл бұрын
as long as its on the edge you can possibly get away with breaking the glass around the battery, however of you disturb the lithium layers in the battery you can cause it to have a significant shorter lifespan as this will inevitably lead to delamination of the lithium layers and swelling will occur. As long as the impact is light like demonstrated in the video it wont have an impact on the cameras as the frame is thick and designed to transfer shock into the frame.

it is just not cost affective yet to do back glass yet
@MobileSentrix Жыл бұрын
It might look that way up front as the machine does cost a bit, however if it is something you could be using every day within the first dozen or two repairs depending on the model or two you would have offset the cost of the machine instead of doing a full back housing. From there on out it will almost always be saving you or earning you a ton as the back glass typically costs a tenth of the cost of the back housing especially on the newer models.
