Gates and Campbell have been playing together for years, early 60’s. KZbin “James Darren “life of the party “ 1963 David Gates Leon Russell Glen Campbell “ Gates played bass guitar and produced/arranged, Glen Campbell guitarist, Leon Russell (Russell Bridges) piano. Gates and Russell were playing in Oklahoma back in the late 50’s, and from what I heard, they came to California in 61’ where Campbell was already playing as a studio musician and got Gates and Leon to come to work as musicians in the studio. And what became known as the Wrecking Crew.

Amazing how their voices blended, in beautiful harmony - reminded in some ways of the harmonies of the Everly Brothers or the Kalin Twins. Guess that memory kinda dates me!

The legendary David Gates. "Make it with you" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. David gates is one of the few artists from the 70's that conveys this emotion to me, even for those who didn't live the 70's. This ability to tap into our deepest emotions is a gift.

Oh my.... the soundtrack to the years my Sweetheart and I dated. And my mother called him Glen Campbell bc he favored Glen Campbell. I lost my Sweetie 4 years ago. So difficult to see and listen but thank you so much for posting.
