wow! what a great laser marking machine. there are many chinese machines out there but I think Epilog's quality, hardware and software technology is what sets it apart. very easy to use and certainly precise. very knowledgeable interview. Keep it up.

Thanks, it is a pretty cool machine for sure, one thing I wish it did have though was the ability to lift off the cabinet to fit larger things in :)

What about life of laser? compared with CO2 which it consume/exhaust with time/use, what about fiber laser? (I am epilog Helix owner)
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
Fiber laser sources are known for the their long lifespan, depending of course on the quality of the laser source, ie, JPT, Raycus, IPG etc. I would expect any fiber laser source to easily outlast a Co2 laser source, but alot! FYI IPG is the best fiber laser source, but you will pay a pretty penny for those, but they will last the longest and are built better than the others. You wont see IPG in many units sold today. in the 5-7k range.

Thanks for this, I saw this new machine announced on epilog's site but there was no real information about it. Looks like a decent machine for someone looking to buy a galvo with North American support. Can this machine project the actual design onto the piece or only the bounding box? Our Chinese galvo will project the entire design, which completly does away with the need for a camera system.

Hey Scott, yes you can change the way the red laser projects the art, also they told me they will be constantly adding new program updates, like hatch patterns and other settings as time goes on,

For what I assume the price is on that machine, the sales guy has to UP the enthusiasm a little bit 😆

Love Epilog but they're out of my price range. What are your thoughts on a Thunder?
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
Hey JL, I don't know much about Thunder, I have a few people in the industry that have them and they say they like then and that they are a good work horse. I would however check out Light Object, based out of Sacramento, CA They have a nice offering of various sizes and prices, I'm going to be show casing some of there offering next month on the channel, stay tuned!

I swear that Epilog sales guy emptied the mini bar on the way down to the showroom floor prior to this interview. LOL

Oh what I wouldn’t give to have that laser, but wow $17k is so far out of my budget.

Its a high end fiber laser, kind of like the apple phone of Fiber Lasers, comes with a price tag, there are other fiber units out there for less, in the 3-6k range that are worth a look to for sure! Poke around, @lasereverything they have some nice recommendations!

Nice machine, but $28K... yikes.
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
I own two Epilog Co2 Lasers and I can tell you from experience that when you Buy Epilog you get every penny worth, from build quality, the customer service, to reliability, and much more, IMO 28k for the 60watt laser with all of those features, and the Epilog build quality and the unmatched customer service is very fair.

A truly talented artist can use a simple laser with personal skills and make things every bit as good as this way overpriced, overcomplicate machine that most likely cost as much as a car! People have a natural affinity to spend money because they have it! I took a Chinese knock off of a K40 and put a couple hundred into it and it works as good as a Glowforge for a fraction of the cost!

You cant compare a Glowforge with an Epilog machine :D Thats like comparing apples and oranges ;)

A Glowforge is a wannabe laser.
