Wow. Extremely impressed with Dr. Lim's honesty. I really appreciate it! I was amazed when he said sometimes there is no difference between the at-home devices vs. in office! I wanted to say that I have had really good results with the Dr. Pen which I have used as safely as possible, at home. I have done 8 treatments. I am not trying to self-promote, though I am, but I am going to post a video tomorrow morning with my results. I've been documenting this self experiment extensively over the past 16 mos. I was really surprised by the results. I'm amazed with what certain skincare procedures and methods can do for aging, lines, etc. The thing that surprised me most about my results was that it got rid of a lot of sunspots, which are normally so difficult to get rid of. Anyway, I am going to finish watching his video now. Just wanted to share this! Thank you, Dr. Lim for your honesty!

I love my Dr. Pen. I completely filled in a hyperpigmented acne scar. I still have some pigmentation left in spite of the glycolic and ascorbic acids I use on my skin care regime. My needle length ranges from. 75 to 1.5mm depending on where I'm treating. I don't use numbing cream, but I do treat my face and needles with rubbing alcohol. I only use hyaluronic acid during needling because I'm afraid of getting granulas. I've noticed that after a session and for hours afterward my mood is elevated and I feel kind off charged up. Is their something about the mild pain of microneedling that can account for that, maybe the release of endogenous opiods? Some people engage in superficial cutting to alter their moods. I suspect the same thing is happening with my Dr. Pen. Think of all the superficial cutters out there who could have beautiful skin instead of wrist scars!

@stevie88493 жыл бұрын
basically, to treat most atrophic (indented) scars, you need to reach the dermis which is the deepest layer of the skin. the thing is, unless you’re a dermatologist or have been trained properly, you could easily give yourself an infection and instead of fix create more scars, etc. so yeah, it’s not impossible but it’s really, really easy, and hence very likely, that using >0.25mm at home will make things worse for oneself
@SLone32513 жыл бұрын

I have just started watching your videos I love love love them. See the truth and and transparency. My question to you because I have some situations going on where my skin was so totally clear now. I have been having severe issues with not only my face. And body as well is there any American doctors that you can suggest. Since you are out of the country and too far away for me to get too!

Hi, doc. What do you think of Secret RFM? And what would you say would be a better alternative rollers or derma stamp?

Hello! I know diy skincare is a big no but can you make a homemade lip scrub? Out of 1 teaspoon honey and 2 teaspoons sugar? Or replacing honey with olive oil? I don’t know but I really need a lip scrub and there super expensive so I’m wondering if that’s something you could diy? Or if there’s any lip scrubbing tools that would last longer then an actual product? Thank you!

I mix a handful of sugar (I don't measure) with a dollop of my Cetaphil skin cleansing gel. Gel is good because it's slippery. You don't need anything in particular. Just something to help the sugar slide over the skin as you massage to exfoliate.

Thank you for these wonderful videos. As a graduated aesthetician I received.25 in school to receive my certification for microneedling. We have the Dermapen professional. It was one of the most painful procedure I went through. I had the 3 caines applied(benzocaine, lidocaine and tetracaine) and had sterile plastic applied. Waiting over an hour before starting the procedure. They were 5%. What do you recommend when a patient has a tolerance to pain medication? What procedures do your staff preform? Thank you!

Dr. Davin, I have had 3 sessions of microneedling and have seen absolutely no difference in my acne scars. Why do you think that is?
@annetaylor74964 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure you just need to keep having them, I've seen results on KZbin Chanel's re acne scarring.....the results happen over time, but look around on KZbin and Google and you will see how people with scarring have improved their skin dramatically....good luck🌺💐

@@annetaylor7496 Thank you. I just feel very discouraged since 3 sessions did absolutely nothing for me. The kind of dissappointment I feel hurts. I don't know if I want to continue

@@bhellenbello311 Oh Bhellen, try and not be disappointed....you can get amazing results tho, maybe see another skin therapist, and get a few other opinions, you might need some other treatments along with the needling....I know of other women who have done their needling at home as well and have taken over 6/7 treatments before really seeing massive results...you prob need some stronger peels as well, but don't give up sweetheart, and don't be discouraged...just be kinder to yourself and keep on your mission, it will happen💐🌺💖....take care wherever you are and stay safe 💖💖and hi from Tasmania.

@@annetaylor7496 Thank you so much for the encouragement. I live in Nigeria where microneedling is really expensive so it's dissappointing when I spend such huge sums each session and see absolutely no results. However, I agree with you that I should see another dermatologist. I will do just that. Thank you for your kindness

@@bhellenbello311 hey you can do them at your home if you are taking sessions without PRP , but the depth of needle at home devices are shallower than the clinic one but it can save your money

Hi, can you debunk something? I heard this thing that menstrual blood is supposed to be a good for acne prevention, kinda like the vampire facial and some people use it as a face mask. Is this okay for the skin? Is this real? Help I’m debating it.

Some people said the protein plasma in blood will help the acne. But if you think clearly, plasma and blood used in medical ( for various treatment) are drawn out and kept in sterile environment . Ie directly from the blood stream and into medical bag (tube etc), never exposed to the environment. Using menstrual blood, is old blood that have died, mixed with uterine lining, passed through various places/ hollow places which would have its own microflora ( i mean we all have some good bacteria on our skin, that can overgrow and cause infection. ive had a keloid scar njection and got infection. The dermatologist said its a common risk and gave me antibiotics) Also as a it expelled from our body and exposed to the environment, bacteria are easily attracted to those. So nevertheless, menstrual blood is a body waste and gross thing. Pls treat it like booger and never lick/eat those like any 3 y/o might do.
