Laserwash G5 Car Wash - Olive BP, Chesterfield, MO

After receiving MANY requests, I went back to check out a car wash that I skipped over last year due to a long line. On that visit, I ended up filming the wash across the street (video here: • AVW Tunnel Car Wash at... ). This time, the gas station appeared to be out of gas, so I ended up having the car wash to myself. Turns out that this place has a LaserWash G5 (it appears that the bay originally housed something else). The G5 isn't my favorite system, but this one was well-maintained and did a fairly good job.

Nice an older model of laser wash some of these PDQ Carwashes got replaced with a Laser Wash 360 or an PDQ Tandem Surfliner Carwash.

We have a laser wash g5 here at the USA car wash in Texas but sadly it's closed and has not been opened since 2021 or 2022 I think.

Quick question, when you happen to pass near Kansas City or Pleasant Hill, MO, can you visit the car wash at 1011 MO-7, Pleasant Hill, MO 64080 (State Route-7)? Because that location(literally called Monsoon Alley) has a Oasis Monsoon.

I don't know why this is. But it seems like G5s car washes start from the left side and go clockwise around the car when most other LazerWashes and washes like the LazerWash often go counterclockwise. Not sure why that is.

The Laserwash G5 uses a PDQ Viper V5 payment system. It runs Windows CE 5.0 on a ARM processor, and Apache 2.1 for remote management via an online dashboard. I know this since carwash owners keep their PDQ payment systems open to the internet and I have the programming manual for the Laserwash series. Basic authentication, no HTTPS. Very easy to hack.

This wash has actually been replaced with a ProTouch Tandem! And the AVW mini tunnel across from it at the Circle K Station was replaced with a Mark VII system.

I just visited a LaserWash 360 and it did the top wash (similar in terms of the program seen in this video) in just 5 minutes. Quite fast for a TF and about twice as fast as the G5-S seen in this video (though both are available from PDQ right now).

The dash cam requires me to either leave the car running or use accessory power. I also had another 2 hours to drive after this, so the files could have been overwritten before I got home to take them off. Long story short, sometimes it's just simpler to use a second standard camera.
