Remove the hooks. The floor liner hugs the contour of your floor. Won't shift out of place like generic floormats would.

Good morning GX Bob, I reached out to lasfit to see if they have floor mats for a 2012 GX 460 considering they only list 2014 to 2022 models. They said if the floor-plan hasn’t changed then it should fit! My question to you, since you’re so versed in the Lexus GX 460. Has the floorplan changed from the 2012 to 2014 model? The way those skid plate hooks are angled, You would have to lift the front up to completely remove the skids. After i removed them the first time i never reinstalled them. It’ll make your life easier if you just leave them off unless you plan on taking your truck and flying off cliffs. Thanks for watching my channel.

Discovered your channel and really enjoy it. Recently purchased a 2014 GX 470 and LOVE it. One owner with 35,000 miles. Metallic white with beige interior and near perfect inside and out. The only thing I replaced so far are the front driver and passenger door sills which were scratched and slightly dented. The fix was easy and parts were cheap and now when I get in the vehicle it looks like new. I was going through your videos and just ordered the console organizer. Keep up the good work!

Just checked out their site and they actually show you do not have to trim the 2nd row mats if you have a 3rd row. Appears they have manufactured a set for 3rd row now. I definitely might be picking these up, that fit looks amazing. Keep all my boys grubby soccer cleats to a minimum back there. :-}

Hi GX. Great video. I did a comparison of the Husky, Lexus and Weathertech and ended up going with the Husky. I like the coverage they have. Those LASFIT look great though! Are they rubbery feeling or plasticky?

They are TPE material which feels the combination of rubbery and plastic or plasticky rubber???? Hard to describe but ALL all weather floor liners regardless of name are made of TPE nowadays. Husky's are nice, i think i had a set of those in my 2008 but as the years went on by, more and more nicer floorliners hit the market.

Hey Pao. My other channel i was trying to start up was called "GX*Bob's Life" but it didn't take off due to neglect. I have been spending so much more time on my GX channel more than anything because of the influx of things to do with this vehicle. Every time one project finished a new project overlapped so i haven't had any free time to do anything else for awhile. So the other channel kind of just went away. By the way, i did do hardwood floors using the float method (the first column of wood tiles were not permanently installed, they just floated against the wall while the second column of tile went down to connect). The most important lesson i learned was to use good underflooring otherwise your floor will creak.

The 2010 to 2013 have a different secure hook in the front row seats that the 2014 and up have. The only way you would make it lay flat is to remove your secure latches sticking out from your carpet.

Reason why I don’t do cargo mats is because they don’t roll up if you need the third row seats up. But if you don’t care for that then there are cheaper alternatives to weathertech called EAaccessories and smartliner that do the job for cheap. The good thing is it’s sold on Amazon. You can buy a couple and test them out. Return the one you don’t like.

Your steering is hard to turn to the left and right? Is difficult to diagnose anything mechanical without being there physically but my best guess is your rack and pinion. Check your power steering fluid level.

The 2010 to 2013 have a different clip secure location for the front floorliners. Unless you remove the oem clips, the floorliners won't sit flat. Not sure if secure clips are even needed for floor liners since they sit custom to the contour of the floor , its hard for them to shift out of place.

Hi Mervyn, i know there are Lexus models that do provide tire pressures readings on your dash screen but unfortunately my model GX only notified is if the pressure is below recommended manufacturer psi call out. I just go to each tire and manually check them with a hand gauge.

I honestly don't like the oem floor mats. There's a reason why they are called floor mats and not floor liners because they don't hug the contour of your floor. They sit flat and rubber material just like the standard generic ones you pick up at the local walmart. Lexus oem floor mats have terrible coverage so don't even consider them if you live in muddy, rainy, or snowy environments. How do i know? I owned a set before transitioning to modern TPE material floorliners (Husky, OEDRO, KYX, Spidermaxx, Weathertech, Lasfit, etc)

Oooohhhh….I can’t confirm that since I’ve never treated that floor plan. But I’m not confident it will since captain chairs is not standard but an option. Check the area between your captain chairs to see if there’s an elevated hump or is it a flat floor. That should give a pretty good clue.

Obviously weathertech's are very nice and have a great reputation in the floor liner market, but other floorliners are considerably great in comparison also because they are all 3D printed to fit the contour of your floor, all are modern TPE material to withstand wear and odor....so the only thing you have left to compare is price. Weathertech is not cheap by any means. Lasfit gives you a 45 day money back guarantee if you hate it....not bad if you ask me .
