Lassie - Episode 45 - "Pokey" - Season 2, #19 (01/15/1956)

When Porky's dad tells him his dog Pokey is useless and he is going to give the dog away and get Porky a "real dog", the boys try, with Lassie's help, to teach Pokey something useful. When Porky's dad is in an accident, he finds out how useful Pokey really is when he sends the basset for help. The story is adorable with the boys trying to teach Pokey "tricks" like fetch and roll over so he'll "be useful".
