That looked like successful fishing trip! From a land-locked state point of view those fish were freaking huge!! 😂 I think you and Mark should make a video dedicated about raising super active and sporty kids. Seriously, your boys are like "Boy's Life" poster kids. I know most of it is your and Mark's influence, but they also each seem to thoroughly enjoy living the outdoors to the fullest. You have to know it is not like that(nor possible) for many families.

I often see you while shopping at Costco. My mother and nieces usually just want to get in and out. I admire Mark teaching your sons the subsistence lifestyle. My family moved up from Southwestern Alaska so we often travel back for a couple weeks to fish and berry camp during the summer months.

just a little tip when bagging up fish or meat when you dont have a vacuum sealer handy...bag up your fish and lower it into a bowl of cold water. the water pushes all the air out and all youve gotta do is zip lock it. it works really good. ❤

Good Evening Hamm Family ❤️ We've been having beautiful, sunny, even opened the house up, weather. But alas, tomorrow we're back in the 90s. Oy 🥵 Nice to see y'all back at the cabin building more wonderful memories, despite the weather... make the most of it. And, YAY, the big boat is back. Boating is so much fun, and fishing makes it twice as much. Great catches there fellas... and yes, it's no fun when the lines get tangled. It can get a bit chaotic when multiple lines get hit at once, but y'all handled it well. Looks like the freezers will be stocked. All in all, it appeared to be a great fishing trip... days 1 and 2. Brings back wonderful memories of me fishing with my Dad. It's so great to see/hear Mark teaching the boys how to clean, gut and filet the fish, and the boys so eager to learn. My Dad taught me everything from preparing to fish, the fishing itself and how to clean, gut and filet; then, my Mom taught me how to store and how to prepare the fish for mealtime. It's been awhile, though 🎣 Hot soups, stews or chilis with a grilled cheese sandwich, homemade bread or cornbread are the perfect meal for a cold and/or rainy day 🌦️ Beautiful Eagle. I'm missing the Eagle Cam, but it's nice to know their bellies are full of salmon 🦅 I had the opposite issue with peaches and nectarines when I went shopping the other day: the nectarines were off, but the peaches are juicy and delicious 🍑 Story time by Everett... love it 📖 Nice lettuces and broccoli from the garden. Yum 🥦 Awesome zipline. I'm sure it's loads of fun. Bravo to Sara(h) and Ben on a job well done. Oh, and Mark, I apologize for laughing when you and your legs opted to lay on the ground... LoL 😂 Sorry to hear about the lack of fireweed blooms and huckleberries 😟 The foggy backdrop of the cabin and water is beautiful 🌫️ It's nice to know Mark can unplug and enjoy his time away from work. I'm happy to hear that you got to unplug and enjoy your time making memories with your family. As much as I'd love to see and hear what y'all are up to, I'm happier knowing you are spending quality time with Family. Love the group photo 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Looks like the weather decided to grace you with a fond farewell. Safe travels home 🏡 Sorry to hear the goat hunt was a bust. Will they get another opportunity or is the season over? 🐐 Fried Salmon Skin is the reason we leave the skin on. Remove the skin before or after cooking, then cut into pieces and fry them up. Hit them with a little finishing salt, plain or flavored. Delicious and crunchy 😋 Hugs for Miss Luna. Take care and Yah's Blessings 🤗

LOVED THIS ONE. So funny with the little fish "returning the bait". Your family adventure brought me back to the days I would go with Dad, Aunts and Uncles and family friends on our fishing boat (20+ft long) into the Miramichi Bay for some cod jiggin. (Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada) I could almost feel the salt water spray and taste the sea air. Thank you for sharing your life and helping me relive a great memory as Dad has been gone 10 years now :)

Family first when you get to see them, especially when they have come so far. Getting photos and videos for yourselves is one thing but I would rather know that you spent and enjoyed time with your loved ones than making it about us. So happy for your family and the experiences you're giving your children and them learning to be self reliant in the Alaskan life style, which tends to be strongly on the hunting side of things. Hope the boys have a great school year.

So glad that you all had a great time and got to catch up with family and catch all the fish to keep you all going throughout the next year. I think the teamwork that you and Mark instill in the boys, as well as life skills you teach them is amazing, as unfortunately it's not something every parent does. You have 4 very hardworking boys that know the true value of teamwork and gratitude and, of course family. You've got 4 amazing sons and that is a testament to how great you and Mark are as parents ❤
