As happy as I am for isagi, I don’t get how Rin doesn’t get any praise !! Rin is undoubtely the MVP of the match. He created all the plays that allowed BL to breaktrought : - his improvisation gave the pulse to his team to adapt to him and get more offensive - catalyst of every single goal - only him could take on Sae, he has to sacrifice his own goals to defend - outplayed a world class middlefielder and conquered his biggest battle - berserker mode was insane, my absolute favorite ! 'Luck' is also a callback to the Second Selection. Isagi was beaten by Rin by 'luck'. Because in that 4v4 game Isagi was able to predict Bachira but Rin was observing Isagi and positioned himself in a position to be 'lucky'. Isagi did the same thing this game, observing Rin and positioning himself in a lucky spot. So in a way he has devoured that idea of luck that Rin used.

In this situation, Isagi trusted that Rin could challenge Sae, so he strategically positioned himself in a spot where, should the ball fall his way, he could capitalize on the opportunity and shoot immediately. What people seem to kinda forget is that towards the end of season 1, Isagi goes through a crushing defeat at the hands of Rin and his team, primarily coz the ball landed on Rin's feet despite all of Isagi's efforts. This was primarily due to luck and Rin's continuous optimization for lucky situations. The LUCK puzzle piece is basically shown at the end of this last episode of season 2 to make it certain that Isagi's somewhat imbibed that concept from season 1 into his style of soccer as well. Nice linkage!

When I first saw the aspect ratio change to look like a movie I got literal chills. I texted my cousin and told him the exact timestamp to witness peak 😂 Then they had the field grow an extra mile just to let Sae stunt on the second selection trio. Then he just started hitting trickshots in the middle of trash talking Rin. Bro was just being extra at that point 😭 Everyone else on the team ran back to defend, but Isagi was the only one waiting on Rin to rise to the occasion to shut down Sae. Isagi was the only one ready to score the goal (so if he wasn't there, it would've been either a draw or Blue Lock's loss), showing the world his striker mentality and putting Blue Lock on the map. In just a short amount of time, Ego turned a bunch of soccer youth into the some of the best players in the country. Rin just cracks me up. He heard his brother praise another man and wanted to go on a LowTierGod rant. If I remember correctly, Ego said Blue Lock's expenses were insane and the point of the BL11 vs. U-20 match wasn't just to put them on the map, but also to take the slots on the U-20 team. I think those guys Ego was talking to on the big screen were agreeing to sponsor the Blue Lock program. They finally let my guy Kunigami out of the hyperbolic time chamber. It happened earlier in the manga but the anime cut it for some reason, so I hope they take the time to show the match against Shidou that got Kunigami booted to the Wild Card program.
