Elsa Beskow is part of Swedish culture and the mythical. I've had a whole family of squirrels hanging on my legs. Pumpkins are more expensive in Sweden because they are more difficult to grow in Sweden. My mom used to grow pumpkins, but I didn't like the pickled ones. Really nice film clips at the end. My father is from southern Lapland, but I'm very rarely there nowadays, which is a shame.

Beautiful! The book was used in schools for learning to read when I was a child, seventy years ago. I go up to the High Coast in the north to my fathers home of his childhood every summer to go kajaking, pick blueberries and more. Thank you for your nice videos!

Elsa Beskow wrote that book over 100 years ago. It came out in 1910. I think she was like you Dani, but worked without computers. ☺ The same fine feeling for nature and animals. Thanks.

Dani, I got these calendars for my office and they are such a gem. My team thinks you are some kind of magical psychic because each month, the squirrel perfectly captures life themes we are working through for the month. It's now a company ritual to turn the page at the start of the month to anticipate what is to come🐿🥰

Tomtebobarnen as the book is called is a national treasure. Treat it with care and respect and maybe some day you will learn swedish and can read it to your kids as many generations have done before you :). Written by one of swedens classical writers, Elsa Beskow.

Elsa Beskow is - or it least was - very popular here in Germany, too. My late wife (born in the early Sixties) brought several children-books from E.B. into our marriage, which had been translated into German at the beginning of the last century. I still enjoy them so much when I find them by random while screening through my bookshelves for something else.

When I read my text before I thought perhapes someone Will missunderstand so I will try to clearify. Sweden has a lot of problems with criminality, we used to be one of the safest place on the earth during my lifetime and now it is only War torn Ukraine that has more shootings and bombs exploding in Europe .And the contrast to those imigrants and the contrast to the beaty art wellbeing that you share is great.
