Runner is a really nice guy. When he said he does not have the same budget as the Marine, I thought what a good example he sets for going outdoors. Outdoor brands make you believe you can only go outdoors with their expensive equipment. But as Runner showed, you don't need the most expensive stuff, and you can still be comfortable.
@AdventureswiththeMarine

I agree. You definitely expensive equipment. I remember wearing jeans and a cotton shirt years ago. Hiking and canoeing on our great adventures. We were perfectly fine. Even though we didn't know better. Thank you lysan so much for watching. I really appreciate it.

Great camp site and trip Ron! I really like the Superior Gear Hammocks. They seem very versatile especially in cold temps. One day. lol. It’s been warm here as well. Unusually warm and at least for the next weeks it isn’t getting really any colder. It was like that last year as well with the exception of like a week in December in the single digits. The warmer weather brought on the leave bloom about a month and a half early this past spring. Congratulations to Runner on his weight loss! 👍

That Superior system looks wonderful! If I weren't already invested in other quilts and hammocks I would be very tempted to move that direction.

Having the other quilts. You can use them on the Superior hammock to get you lower than what the rating is. But it is not the best choice for those hot summer days. When you want to remove the under quilt to cool down. Thank you Joemikeska for watching.

That multi layer quilt and top quilt attached to your superior hammock appeared very warm and most comfortable set up you are likely to get. If you use that gear on your cold butt hang , fourth coming adventure soon. I am sure we are in for a treat see-ing the Marine with a sweaty butt hang adventure in above minus temperatures. Enjoy watching you guys enjoy yourselves and having a laugh. Great fellowship.

I finished the Wisconsin Frozen Butt Hang video over a week ago. My computer will not let me render it. Just got it back from the repair shop. Still dose not work. I am hoping soon to have the Sweaty Butt Hang video out as soon as possible. I think Runner lost a few pounds sweating in his cocoon of down. Stay tuned!

As always great video. Almost hung out last week but down here the wet/rain came with high temps, so no snow but I hate being damp. As I get older I find myself getting more excuses LOL - however, I hung in my basement all last week and got a Haven + for Christmas yesterday so thinking of challenging the weather for an overnighter this week IF I can get away to use it outside since it's not gonna get freezing. I like Afton, been there a couple times when I tented more, so maybe it would be a place to try this Haven + hmmmmmm. Looking forward to your next one.

The Haven wasn't for me. I'll stay with my AMOK for now. I don't think it's a bad hammock overall and by design is a much flatter lay than the gathered-end hammocks for the most part. In fact, it seemed great just lying in it and kicking back but didn't get the sleep or get the flat lay I was expecting or what I get in my AMOK when I spent all night in it. But that could just be my age and injuries which does make it hard to get comfortable in a lot of different types/makes of hammocks now. I spent at least 8 nights in it and only really got one good night's sleep on the third or fourth night but had trouble repeating that. I found even in the XL being 6 foot and 210lbs I still had a slight shoulder squeeze (they call it "taco" squeeze? the mat itself slightly folds down the lengthways of the hammock) when on my back, though sleeping on my side was pretty good, and I would still find my head slightly lower than my feet at times due to my restlessness no matter how I adjusted the mat (firmness) or did the hang angle (suggestions they gave me for possible corrections). Seems to be a great company though. They gave me suggestions to try to help and did give me a refund so found the company's customer service to be really good in trying to make it work for me. I am glad I gave it a try because its design really did intrigue me.
