I think the scale is pretty cool and the ones I see at antique stores always have a lot of patina and rust. The weight is a bummer to ship but I think someone would want it. Comps are decent. Great video like always! And I would love to learn about auctions.

Hi i loved the cushions but i do like candle sticks too.we used to do boot fares a lot.modern and older things .old tins went well they were popular .

So many lovely things, those embroidered mats are gorrrgeous, so much work in them! Don't be too hard on yourself for making the mistake on the scales, I've been dealing on and off since the late 90s and I still make mistakes! I have a whole bag full of them next to the front door LOL ready for their big trip to the charity bin! 😆

Just to let you know that Dr. Christopher Dresser is a highly respected designer whose pieces are often found in museums; I'm not familiar with your piece or current prices for his work, but maybe consider raising the price? Hi Liz, thank you so much for your insight! My piece has some damage and I had it priced almost double and I’ve had it in my shop for more than half a year and it didn’t sell, so I reduced the price. I see it still doesn’t sell so who knows, I think it’s because of that damage 🙈

We love boot fares but like you say most have come to an end .look to see if any indoor boot fares or table top fares are around in your area .we have found a few but not many

I sometimes regret buying things as well. But fortunately I don’t spend that much on them so let’s say it’s not that big of a deal. I think the scale has its own charm. The pillows are my favourite too!

I am in Canada and work in an antiques store and I know the scales would get snapped up here. I liked a glass vase you picked up, pink or peach I think, and it was very Art Deco in its shape. (Perhaps it had China on the base!?)

I loved that vase too, but they were asking £20 for it 😬 There was one in my shop at the moment, same design but triple in size, and I had that one priced at £35. It made no sense to me to pay £20 for a small version 🫣 Thank you for telling me about the scales, I think I’ll eventually list it ☺️

The pillows are fabulous! I think the scales are interesting; someone will buy them as they are real vintage too! I saw a Murano cat that you did not buy -- Murano is a top brand for glass from Italy. Not sure if it was broken in any way. Cheers.

Thank you! I know about Murano glass but at that moment I had another Murano cat in my shop who just wasn’t selling, so that’s why I wasn’t sure that people actually love Murano glass that much 🤭 The cat that I had sold in the meantime and now I regret not buying that cat 🤣

Hi, I normally do but in this case I didn’t! They have a label on the inside which says “dry clean only” and I didn’t want to risk ruining them 😬

Body language when asking a price, put the thing down indicating you are prepared to walk away. It is their job to sell, at this point, not your place to buy. I think the scales are fine, they have the "look".
