People needs to get this out of their little brains, Russia has 10000km operational depth, stricking 300km into Russia will not change the course of this war. Ukraine cannot win through kinetic action, only dyplomatic solution will work.

You're missing the bigger picture. The more high-value targets Ukraine is able to hit, the less likely it is that that Russia will be motivated to continue this war in the long-run.

@@Alan.MTB. "Amateurs talk strategy; professionals talk logistics" General Omar Bradley. Ukraine is not going to get enough 155mm (NATO is going to miss Dec 2025 of 2 Million rounds/Yr), Patriots (2000 a year), F-16s (1/6 gone) and other ammo/missiles. Ukraine is outa time and resources (Germany and Poland have tapped out already). As for JASM, like the Kursk offensive is a pure PR offensive that does NOTHING for the Ukraine army. Russia is smashing the UAF with FABs, TOS-1/2s and Iskanders. IMO of course!

Ukraine’s losses outweigh Kursk gains, as Russia on cusp of taking key town (Pokrovsk in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk). The depopulated town and several highways and railways it straddles have served as a crucial logistical hub for the Ukrainian military, and their takeover may burst the front line open and become a military triumph for Russia. As many in Ukraine cheered the military incursion into Kursk, tens of thousands in Donetsk get ready to flee. Meanwhile, Russia’s aerial attacks on other parts of the country continue uninterrupted. It’s like they live in two realities, they care about those ephemeral gains instead of defending Ukrainian land here and now. Russia moved only small numbers of troops from the Ukrainian front line to Kursk, but Kyiv dispatched thousands of servicemen to Kursk, leaving its forces in Donetsk with skeleton crews that cannot contain a front-line breach. The Russian military boosted its advance on Pokrovsk by deploying troops that had been storming the nearby town of Chasiv Yar, and their breakthrough in Donetsk means they would be able to strike Ukrainian forces in the nearby Zaporizhia region. In the coming two weeks, Ukraine is very likely to lose almost all of its front line in Zaporizhia if it doesn’t deploy all of its reserves from somewhere. But Ukraine seems to have run out of reserves amid more losses in the southern Kherson region. In general, Ukraine’s positions in August have deteriorated rapidly. The situation is so bad that some Ukrainian observers simply refuse to comment on it. "The topic is slippery, I don’t want to breed treason,” one military expert stated.

And we all know what the cost was of Bakhmut. You state nothing of the cost advancing to Pokrovsk from Bakhmut. Sevastopol has been Russia´s black sea fleet HQ for longer than USA has been existing. You have to be out of your right mind to think there is anything Russia is willing to trade an entire geopolitical theatre, as it was when they thought it was a good idea to try and crab Sevastopol to Nato´s possession, which it would also go if Russia gave it back to Ukraine. Nato leadership made no calculations at all and they did not consult Russia experts as they and most people who know math and have some geopolitical understanding, could have told the leaders if asked. This war happened because ignorant people at high places were too ignorant to know and too proud to ask and instead just looked the budget difference between Russia and Nato. They did not even compare what countries get with the money they spend. In the west there is this post soviet thinking model still at large that everything has to make maximum profit, without any other values. Values like patriotism, values like providing armed forces maximum possible firepower with as cheap as possible. Instead armies in Nato like many other government paid areas, have been a milking cow for all possible people who can have established connections to people who make the decisions. It's the most destructible form of corruption as the tax payers see that their money is outright abused and shifted to the accounts of government actors and their close circle. There is this habit in the west that tax payers pay ten times the value of similar products in the open market but instead of 10 better quality, the quality is 10 times worse if the product is not completelly broken on arrival. There has been same in our country, for example schools have bought out dated computers in a price that you would have got two and a half top notch gaming pc:s. Just because the owner of the computer shop was related to some leading politician. In that transaction ten times cheaper would still have been expensive. Basicly a max 300 dollar computer would have been sold with 5 000 dollars. There is no country on Earth which could function for long with such corruption. And it is so with Nato aswell.

The problem with Ukr is that it is politically and militarily subservient to outside powers, To win a war against Russia, you must be militarily self-sufficient. Russia has the Industrial capacity and raw materials to sustain a war of attrition in the current line of contact for the next five years. Still, Ukraine doesn't have such capacity, and cannot win this war by relying on alms. Zelensky is smart enough to understand that the best option for Ukraine is through negotiation. Mongolia doesn't need defense. The ICC circus has no business to issue such an order. Their jurisdiction is only over citizens of countries which signed for this BS. To Russia, USA, Israel and even Ukraine the ICC is a total nobody. If someone is dumb enough to arrest Putin, that country will seize to be viewed as a country, will be considered a terrorist organization, that had kidnapped their president, there will be a price to pay for that, but the ICC clowns won't be the ones to pay it. That order was an absolute stunt, that made this circus look even more idiotic.

The belief that Moscow would swap territory in Kursk for Donbas is an utter folly. 1) The Russian constitution proclaims the Lugansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Sapparozhzhia oblasts as parts of the Russian Federation in their 1991 borders. That means the Kremlin has no space for any kind of area swap, but is obligated to "liberate" all the territories claimed by the Russian constitution from Ukrainian "occupoation". From Moscow´s perspective, swapping a bit of Kursk against abit of Donetsk is swapping the Ukrainian occupation of one Russian territory for another. 2) Who is going to force Moscow to engage in any peace negotiations and any territory swaps? Russia is still by far the stronger of the two parties and the longer the war of attrition goes on, the more will it benefit Russia. There is no incentive for the Kremlin at the moment to agree to any peace settlement. 3) The casus belli for Moscow was Ukraine´s aspired accession to NATO. As long as Russia´s conditions on that issue are not met, the war will go on. The territorial issues were just "upgraded", after the referendums in the southern regions. 4) The regions that Russia claims for itself in southern Ukraine are the most valuable ones of Ukraine. The area in Donetsk got heavily fortified over many years. The Kursk border area is a very rural and underdeveloped territory without fortifications and thus much less valuable from an economic and military perspective.

Pokrovsk is important for logistics as hub supporting the troops defending Pokrovsk. If Pokrovsk falls it will not have any such function, so it will be of little importance. Then the next hub will be determined of where the next Lines of defense is drawn. This is why it is simply not a good tactic to spend as much resourches as Putin does on occupying Pokrovsk. It can stretch Putins logistics to a dangerous distanse where it become vounerable for a huge outflanking. If that spike falls the UA can use it to penetrate the entire Donetsk fortifications of Putin. It can turn the war totally. This is why Pokrovsk offensive now looks so much as a trap as it does look like a potential collapse of this area of the front

Can they progress north and south to straighten the line and eliminate the threat to their flanks? I see no evidence of this. That being said I don't think the UkroReichers have the manpower to take advantage of this either. The troops needed are elsewhere. In Kursk getting pounded to dust. That is telling to me. How does long range strikes save lives? Doesn't that only just create opportunities for revenge? Why not just peace talks 😮

The situation reminds me a lot of WW2... The Kursk offensive reminds me of the Battle of the Bulge and Hitler's delusions that drove his competent generals to prosecute it. And now we see Zelensky firing his staff just like Hitler did when his delusions were acknowledged by his staff. Interesting how history rhymes... Hopefully the region can find its way to peace and mutually beneficial trade at some point...

It’s not the senior command, It’s Zelensky getting side tracked with Ukraine’s best troops in Kursk.

Nope. Newer and improved. Stealthy 550 miles range or some such. I'm sure Russia and friends would like to get its data, or maybe capture one somewhat intact

Longer range, but would still need US personnel to enter target coordinates. Which will be seen as direct involvement.

The gap between Ukraine’s negotiating position and the realities on the ground is farcical. It’s hard to understand what the high command and political leadership is thinking.

Fighting a war does not make one able to be senior command, it doesn't matter how mad this soldier on the ground is, he simply has no clue about the macro of the war, cause of a lack of formal education and simply a lack of cohesive information, I feel for the guy but he should just go back home when his contract is up if he truly believes what he says.

16:00 I'm sorry but this sounds like an analysis from some "armchair general", rather than anyone actually participating in the war. Ukraine simply does not have weapons or manpower for such "easily done" things.
