Thank you for this video, I think I just found my problem since I brought this shifter second hand. Couldn't get this shifter to move properly as it should and noticed it's missing those little spacers that go inside the pivot point of the shifter. Soon as I find those I will be back here to clarify! It barely reaches 1st 2nd 5th and reverse.

You have single cam single cams linkages won’t slip in has same has b series

Apparently you’re supposed to reuse your oem plate if you have a d series. The 3 hole one is for b series shift linkage only

KTuned advises to remove the billet base plate and swap OEM stamped steel base plate on, not very good for 200 dollars.

When I bout mine it said to re use stock plate if u have d series on the website

Hmm I don’t think so anyway. I’d rather cut my cheap stabilizer bar that doesn’t have hardly any strength to it rather than cut that very solid piece of metal from the new ktuned piece. We’ll see how it goes anyway

Hey you're missing the metal piece that goes on top of that mount bushing at the rear of the stabilizer rod. That poly bushing/mount will tear through without the metal piece that goes over it to support the rod.

2yrs late but your plate looked like it was flipped around. All you had to do was back it out from the grommet and flip and install and 2 of 3 holes would of lined up.

If the interior floor is bumming you out just put new carpet in without the jute. Weighs practically nothing but gives the interior a much more finished look. Cool shifter bud. I'm debating between a k turned lean back or the hybrid racing unit. Up in the air still.

@r_fab_machining makes a billet plate that chassis mounts the new Ktuned or Hybrid Racing Shifters eliminating the Stabilizer bar for a totally different and better feel

I belive 1320 performace makes a shifter that mounts to the chassis and eliminates the stabilizer bar too

The spacer is for the bolt that go trough it thats why its long sorry for my crapy english i am dutch 😂

Nice video, man. Do you get any vibration or rattle from the shifter? I installed the Hybrid B/D short shifter and I get a rattle / hum / vibration and certain RPMs and deceleration. It drives me nuts.

I haven't tried the Ktuned, but based on pivot ball specs alone: upgraded delrin bushing (ktuned) VS spherical bearing (hybrid racing). Lol I think we can guess which is smoother!

Keep up the awesome content, I try to stay caught up on all your latest posts. Unfortunately my rack and pinion just went out on my civic and I'm really dreading trying to tackle this project. I'm sure you guys don't miss the days when you had all the extra wires, AC lines, splash guards, and all the other fun things that you all shed for weight reduction for racing. I have a feeling this is really going to be a pain in ass job. Hopefully the car gods can shine a little grace my way, make it go smoothly. I can barely get enough clearance to even attempt it. Also any shifter with any part of it that has set screws is trash. They come loose, they strip out, and shit will fall apart

It bolts right up for b-series linkages, but for the d-series, you have to reuse the plate that he removes and use that instead of the aluminum plate, or just cut it lol
