Why is everyone wearing white

It looks like the white dresses are all the same style of dress so I think they are the bridesmaids. They might not even be pure white and might be a light colour and look white in the lighting.

Traditionally bridesmaids would wear white to 'confuse demons who wanted to attack the bride'. Nowadays it's so unusual (and actually considered rude) that some modern brides will choose white for the bridesmaids to be original and chic.

Not sure why they are crossing their hands unless it's hogmanay and the bells have just gone.
