Let me advise you one thing, next time you stay with either a Gurung, Magar or a Thakali family if you are back to Pokhara or if you plan to visit the eastern part, stay with a Limbu or Rai family. This is to taste their authentic dishes containing lots of meat items. The family you stayed with are either Brahmin or Chhettri who most of them are vegeterians and those who do eat meat, they consume very less, maybe once a year only during the Dashain festival.

I'm puzzled by why some commenters are taking offense to my initial comment. Choosing not to consume meat or only consuming it occasionally doesn't necessarily relate to financial status. Many people from those communities prefer dairy products like milk, ghee, yogurt, and buttermilk over meat. My comment wasn't meant to imply that these individuals are poor because they eat meat only once a year. It's simply a reflection of their lifestyle. It's not meant as an insult to any community, as it's a well-known fact. On the other hand, communities like Rais, Limbus, Gurungs, Tamangs, and Newars, some of whom are known as Matwalis, include meat in their diets more frequently, often consuming it daily. Some individuals have responded to my comment with extremely offensive language, but I remain steadfast in my stance. I will stand by what I originally stated. It's possible that those who are using abusive language were raised in environments where such behavior was normalized, but that doesn't affect my position.
