I remember in 1994, there used to be a designer hat shop in the Mademoiselle de Orleans area which I bought a 1940s hat for a murder mystery party in high school. That was so unique!

However, no more Disney characters in Small World and no IPs outside Fantasyland unless I decide they suit the land.

French Market isn’t exactly free of IP. It just isn’t Disney IP. The French Market is named and styled after the French Market in New Orleans, a very famous and iconic New Orleans institution. It’s a direct link to the Crescent City and it’s sad that it will be lost.

Sorry for the late reply. Here's a cool Historic Fact, wanna know why there's a French influences in Louisiana, New Orleans. Cuz this town used to a French territory back in the Seven Years War/French Indian War (1758-1763) and then the American Revolutionary War (1778-1783)

The fire damage repair - could be waiting on an insurance claim. Also a bunch of inspections (and potentially partial demo) to determine the extent of the damage. Then plans have to be drawn, building permits obtained (this isn't Reedy Creek!) and contracts bid for the job. A few more months wouldn't shock me.

It can't be called Tianna Land because 80% of the land is not Princess and the Frog themed, it's New Orleans Square (and I'm thinking of it after Splash and French Market change, where it's still going to be New Orleans themed as well as have more attractions that aren't Princess and the Frog, like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean).

That new shop with all the New Orleans and Cajun items is beautifully done! I can’t believe that space was empty before. When I visited on Saturday that whole area felt more imaginative and alive then ever before. I also love the pieces of eight pirate shop that also has Haunted House merchandise. Btw how great is the addition of Tropical hideaway patio they addded across from Bengal BBQ… How are the pineapple skewers they added?

It was only empty after the park reopened. Prior to that it was several shops over the years including a New Orleans based kitchen shop for years where you could get Beignet mix, coffees, pralines, etc. This is nothing new! (After that it was a Christmas store and other themes as well).

Cinderella, Aurora and Belle (ok Beast) have their own castles, both Cinderella and Belle have ‘fancy’ restaurants, I think the carousel in Disney World is Cinderella too and there are two different Belle shows in Disney world, so I don’t think a ride, quick service and tiny gift shop are overkill for Tiana in the grand scheme of things. I would have preferred brand new attractions, but space is so limited in Disneyland I get it. I’m just hoping they add something around Splash in Disney World to make it fit the theme/ride better.

New Orleans is a place so cool that Disney made a film about it, Tiana lived there. New Orleans is bigger and more complex and much richer in background and history. Too much Tiana's land for me. The French Market cafe can improve without yet another IP dang!

FreshBaked. David, At 5.13 into this video at this location a long, long time ago there were unplanned "Meet & Great's" with Brer Fox and Brer Bear. During the day and into the evening upto the start of the Fireworks. The "Dirt Lot" at Downtown Disney has become a large sand pit for the workers and Sofia to play around in.Disney workers would'nt be able to cope if they had to work at Universal's pace. and show some actual progress at day's end! The longer splash mountain stays, the better… in my opinion. Nothing about PTBA sounds good, from the salt mines to the cheap projections replacing animatronics… they should just leave the one at Disneyland alone until they see if people actually like the one at WDW… no reason to mess up two rides.

New Orleans square has always been perfectly themed and idyllic. It's my happy place. If they wanted a Tiana's restaurant they had several empty spaces they could have used. This just sucks.

I was looking at the concept art for T’s Palace, and I noticed for the first time that the canopy is still there. What I thought was bunting on the balcony is actually the canopy which has been drawn back. Even The wires for the canopy are in the concept. I assume the plan is they’ll retract them as needed. The facade will be almost untouched during the remodel. Most of the work must be to the interior. It’s weird, it’s both a big change and at the same time New Orleans square will look nearly the same.

Rogers the musical at Hyperion makes sense both for the transition to Avengers and something that can have a long term run. Aladdin was great but then they had a full length version move to Broadway, same with Frozen. Rogers could be short for the theme park and be a good addition IMO. Also I saw online today that Beignets and juleps are at the Gumbo place next to Pirates.

What I would really like to see for the French Market area is a roof put over the patio, more like an atrium (glass panels) and being open on the sides. That patio is useless when it is raining and hot during the summer. The atrium could have ceiling fans for when it’s hot, heaters when it’s cold and rainy. Once agin though I think the Imagineers are going to fail as they have so many times recently!
