I really wish there was a way to connect Villainsland and Fantasyland through some kind of enchanted forest that had some of the Villains Grove effects at night. If they could expand the Beauty and the Beast area with the ride from Tokyo (which would also give them an excuse to get rid of that dinky castle) then start the forest transition, it would give a way to be able to make a big loop connecting the back of the park, plus having those two lands connected kind of makes sense.

Disney should've done an entire park & not just a land, especially one w/just two attractions. There should be at least 3. 1 roller coaster. 1 ominimover trackless dark ride & 1 boat ride. Wish the rollercoaster was themed around Bald Mountain & not so much Maleficent (even if her castle is in the background). The boat ride could be themed around the River Styx.

They need to build a Villains Park. With actual rollercoasters (think Velosicoaster, Hagrid’s etc) to compete with Epic Universe. Let Maleficent’s or the Evil Queen’s castle be the centerpiece. But they’re going to do it on the cheap and F it up.

​@@MoiveGuy24I don't disagree. 4 of the last major attractions between universal and Disney have been Hagrids, Velocicoaster, Tron, and Guardians Cosmic Rewind. While I love roller coasters, I don't want universal or disney to think e-ticket must always be a roller coaster. I go to cedar fair, six flags, sea world parks, Hersheypark, and Dollywood for that. Disney and universal need to build more true dark rides or at least coasters that have majority dark ride elements.

One thing few people have noticed is that the proposed laydown yards are far bigger than really needed for a project of this scale. As an Architect who has worked on several projects larger than this, a laydown yard also stabilizes unbuildable land to be stable enough to build on. I have to think that temporary fencing will be erected on both sides of the railroad track in that area during construction. They could easily build a show building and/or roller-coaster tracks that spans over the tracks like the Tron Coaster or Guardians Cosmic Rewind. This could make the expansion of this land beyond the tracks quite easy including many other back of house service access points from Floridian Way. I agree that most public areas will be inside the railroad tracks but show buildings could easily expand over the tracks to the outside of the area you have show. You likely would not have to close the train for most of the construction of the new land.

I think it be really cool if during the boat ride, you would see this huge Ursula animatronic come out of the water and she tries to like push your boat out of the way or something and she says a few lines

Underwater animatronics are finicky and troublesome. Look at Jaws (movie and ride) and the Jurassic Park/World river Adventure rides.

It would be cool if villains land got its own train stop or backstage bus stop as a way to allow it a way to be open late after the rest of the park closes. Guests from all of the closed parks not ready to call it a night could roll in and have a late night Villains experience.

Honestly, MK needs a teens/adult area. If parent's don't want to take their kids back there, don't. It's getting put in the very back of the park for a reason. The whole of the park is geared towards families. The problem I think Disney is seeing (as am I) is that the teenage demographic, for the most part, goes to Hollywood Studios for the big thrills like Tower of Terror, Rock N Rollercoaster, and Rise of the Resistance and then leaves property and heads for Universal. Parent's of littles are going to need to get over themselves on this one. Also, I don't think it's going to be spooky scary. Look at the Evil Queen at Disneyland. She's not "evil" or "scary", she's incredibly funny. And I think that's the angle Disney is going to go for. I don't think there is going to be much, if any, alienation of families on this. Universal's pretty much said that Dark Universe is going to be Halloween Horror Nights 365 days a year. I think Disney is going to go for a Mickey's Not So Scary feel. Time will tell.

I think Villains Land will extend further behind Haunted Mansion so there could be an access path into Fantasyland. A Fantasyland/Villains Land link would be almost mandatory.

From the looks of it, the roller coaster and the dark ride might be the only attractions for Villains at Magic Kingdom and more likely be occupied with 10 shops/restaurants. Wish Disney would include more smaller flat rides with this expansion, Just look at Tokyo DisneySea, the Fantasy Springs expansion has 4 attractions with no shops.

I don’t want to see two Roller Coasters or two major attractions but maybe one major and several smaller family attractions like an octopus spinner attraction for Ursula. Then theme the land like the Isle of the Lost from Descendants with shops and things like Curl Up and Dye run by the Stepsisters ( Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique) or Zoltar Fortune Teller Machine themed to Doctor Facilier.

It would be smart for them to build the haunted mansion restaurant during this construction and place it next to Mansion before you get to villains land. I also think they are going to re work the existing que maybe push it more north

If I don’t finally get my Yzma’s Secret Lab coaster I will be so disappointed in Disney! “Pull the lever, Kronk.” … “WRONG LEVERRRRRRRRR!” She’s the only villain from day 1 to have an actual coaster in her film! It’d be awesome if that’s the coaster you see under the water! OMG that would be amazing! But I’m mostly interested in just being able to see the characters. Like give me Yzma, the Queen of Hearts, Dr. Facilier, THE HORNED KING, and then ofc classics. But I wanna see The Horned King get some recognition for one.

With all of the Disney acquisitions, including 21st Century Fox merger, this really should be a separate theme park, not just a land. So many beloved & fan favorite movies such as Hocus Pocus, Rocky Horror, X-men, Deadpool, etc., so much you could do, could you imagine?

An old contract with Universal does not allow Disney World to do/have anything Marvel (except for The Guardians of The Galaxy for some reason...?) in any of their parks in Florida.

I'm guessing the main attraction is a Villains re-skin of DisneySea's Peter Pan attraction, and the coaster might be a Maleficent version of Shanghai's Spider-man coaster. Maybe to save some money on development costs.

I don’t know why it finally clicked, but it makes sense to have the likeness of different national parks. You can alter the area around Tiana to make it more like the parks in Louisiana, BTM area can be like Bryce and Zion, and cars area is like the parks in the pacific NW. It also goes along with the idea that time progresses as you get further away from liberty square. I think people forget that frontier is anything new. In US, it’s pretty much anything west of the Mississippi and we shouldn’t be just in the wild Wild West.

It's a bad trade, if you look at the loss. Parents will complain, there will be refunds, scaryness will be scaled back... Sure, they will do something new but at what cost? A good rollercoaster stays attractive for years, but Disney has cheaped out a lot lately. All the water features? Not happening. They did tear down so many fountains in the parks already, so why build new water features?

Wow! That's a long time to build a land. Also, for the Walt Disney World Railroad, the audio will be updated before the arrival of the Fantasyland station, just like the updated of the audio of Disneyland Railroad for the passing of the attraction from Splash Mountain to Tiana's Bayou Adventure, before the arrival of Mickey's ToonTown station.

It's clear this is the response to universal's epic universe, despite the claims that it isn't from Disney or it's mega shil.. err.. fans. But this is WHY competition is a good thing. Disney has been resting on its laurels and cutting budgets in the parks more and more lately in favor of less than stellar performing media productions. They're finally getting a fire lit under their butts to do something in Florida to keep the excitement up. Now I don't believe it will be done with the same speed that universal built their new park, and I also don't think it'll end up looking quite as good as their initial art work as seems to be the case with them lately. But I do believe, if done right, this will be an amazing new land to explore and will pay in dividends.

That's because they just came up with the concept five minutes before the announcement. It will take another two years to plan, one year to pause because of budget cuts, and then two years to build it.

I’m dismayed with just 2 rides; unimpressive already. Needs At Least four rides (small spinner type thing included) and much More, to feel like a proper “LAND” with this broad of a subject. StarWarsLand sucks with its two rides. Tiny Adventureland in Disneyland has four attractions plus shops and eateries. Shame that Disney thinks so small now. It all numbers, not dreams.

Stop saying this is an expansion. This is a re-theme to land that’s already developed with other things. A true expansion would be if they developed the more expensive option of actually expanding outside of what they already have.

Didn’t you listen. Jack said that due the land and economic restraints, if built outside the berm, the land would have been much smaller. In Disneyland, if you look at the history, Walt got rid of many original attractions and replaced them with new things he thought would interest the public more. Time goes on, things change. It happens every day.
