I will say if you're able to get a soul gambler's fallacy, the self cast ballista setup that Palsteron is doing is SO SMOOTH. All-in-all, the fact that exploding ballista is a prime build for Falconer is fantastic, and I hope it remains a mainstay of this class. The fact that it scales so well alongside the Falcon skills is wonderful. So much fun!!

I do have a 2LP soul Gambler's, but I prefer the immediacy of being able to dive bomb and the range from blast rain. I'm sure Palsteron's build is excellent it's just not my style.

@Tenkiei I would definitely like more uptime on dive bomb, it's a really fun skill! I'm glad there are so many skills to specialize into for Falconer. Even just falconry itself feels incredibly powerful. Some of the smoothest and simplest gearing I've had so far. Now to try out a Warlock!

@@w4zz_yt It's different builds pretty much. I'm also playing my version of autobomber which even put divebomb and smokebomb on auto cast. There's a problem with Gambler's fallacy and that's you must not technically hit the target, for that to happen you kinda need to abandon quite a lot of very nice buffs from falconer skills as well. Also build with ballista as main skill is more mana intensive, so it's not superior, it's just a tech that require trade off.

nice! can't wait to go through this. my idea and iteration of this build is to skip going bow and scale off throwing damage and throwing speed. utilizing all of the falcons throwing damage abilities, via Feather Knives in Falconry, which is a CDR based basic attack the falcon will do constantly and anytime you consume a falcon's mark. its CDR is scaled down with your throwing atk spd. next is using Aerial Assault instead of Dive Bomb, specifcally for Projectile Training. this is i think one of the most OP skills in the entire game right now?? it states "A portion of your added, increased and more throwing damage modifiers now apply to the Wing Burst. This effect also applies to Featherstorm" it gives 30% per point, for 4 points, is 120%. that means that all of the flat, increased AND MORE throwing damage you scale, the bird for those two attacks gets 120% of it. that, i assume, is on top of the bird already getting 75% of your increased damage via Trained to Hunt, and the passive Avian Hurl has a 5 point bonus of "Your Falcon gains a portion of your added throwing damage as added melee and throwing damage." at 50% value. so, my bird will then essentially get 195% of my increased damage, 120% of my more damage, and 170% of all my flat damage for both wing burst and featherstorm. not to mention the normal dex bonuses, blah blah blah. this is all for scaling throwing damage and atk spd, which explosive trap scales off of as well so long as you don't use a bow or take Blast Rain skill. it basically doesn't affect ballistas at all either, because their scaling is purely from dex and minion mods. i should also still be able to roll with smoke bomb which gives a massive boost in throwing damage as well, if you so choose. can't wait to get it going!! this class (almost said ascendancy) is super strong and really fun to play.

Just a note: you put points into Smoke Blades for Smoke Bomb but because you take Blast Rain, Explosive Trap no longer scales with Throwing Damage

It's not about my damage, it's about transferring damage to my minions. I believe it still transfers to the Ballistae and I do see larger hits off minion skills with full stacks, but I couldn't figure out exactly how it was working. If your crit is low, it could be worth going into 1/5 just for the shadows then 4/5 shadow hunter.

Hi, love this build. I'm just a little confused with the + bow cold/ + bow physical on the bow and quiver. Does ALL bow damage, regardless of type, help scale the falcon? Or Should i be hunting phys and cold specifically? (assuming I have plenty of crit, crit multi, etc)

Shadow falcons are bugging dive bomb, making them literally not hit. Too bad because it's bonkers in ST :(, it doesn't bug when you throw the smoke bomb but if you want to use it for AoE it's hard

Yeah I noticed that too. I usually just cast a smoke and dive bomb onto nothing if it’s bugged then the it’ll start working again

Why do you scale cold damage but keep the fire explosion ? you have coldsnap mines which gives cold res pen but you're not taking frigid barrage to convert explosion damage to cold? Am I missing smth can someone explain pls.

Curious about pros and cons of Aerial Assault instead of Shift, especially with affixes from Talons of Valor. Any thoughts?

The affixes from Talons don't apply because it would be unspecialized. If you specialize shift it's much more defensive via granting an invulnerability. Aerial would do damage and restore mana but not provide as much defensive utility. I also found it was easier to avoid boss abilities with shift than Aerial when using both unspecialized.

I don’t understand - how do you install ballistae? On the panel there is a shift instead of ballistae. In skills, ballistas are upgraded, not shift. I don't understand...

The traps can spawn the turrets. Don't need turrets on your bar, can just run Shift (naked, no points).

Just picked up most of this build! Before, I breezed through content. Now, at lvl 78, dex and minion dmg build, my dive bomb does 100 dmg. Is this a bug or what??

Question, I have found that if I take birds aren't real node, I lose 99% of my dive bomb damage. Does anyone else see this case? Is this a known bug?
