Am I getting old or was everything including film reviews better back then 😉 Barry Norman was a major part of my childhood, I loved watching this program late at night!! RIP BAZZA!! 🙏

I can recall his reviews better than any film I've actually seen in the cinema recently.

The BBC has never been able to find a worthy replacement film reviewer. Ross was rubbish.

Barry was more entertaining than some of the so-called actors he interviewed and the films he reviewed

There should be a lot more bazza on youtube. His shows were some of the best film reviews around, even if sometimes he told us a little bit too much about a film's plot.

Barry said he loved movies, & he liked most actors but never felt the need to put them on a pedestal & fawn over them like americans do .......& as you can see the ReaL stars loved a leg pull as well as inteligent conversation. RIP Barry..

Agreed, Barry has been proved to be unmatched. Woss was wubbish. What a shame the voice sync in this clip is wrong, but it is enjoyable anyway. RIP Barry.

Just one minor fault with this video. The sound is not synched with the video. Apart from this, great to see the best of Barry Norman. I watched this programme from the late 1970s to the end of the Barry Norman years. The programme was never as good after Barry left. RIP Barry Norman. ......And I suppose, that's what its' for............

Ending film 98 was partly due to falling ratings, but also because it just became too expensive to run. Permission to show the clips wasnt forthcoming, despite it being free marketing and production companies wanted more control over reviews. It was a blessing though, because the late 90s was the right time to end. 21st cy films have been Marvel and CGI dominated bore fests with v little risk taking and diversity.

This was too laid back, been on far too long, now with have Film Review on the BBC with a dynamic theme with Mark Kermode.
