The Mob Reporter

Жыл бұрын

One of Europe’s Most Wanted was reaching for a shopping cart but it was him being bagged, not his groceries. Undercover cops swarmed Erick de Ventura Pacheco in a supermarket, finally arresting a man on the run since 2014. Let me tell you about it.
** PLEASE TAP THE "THANKS" BUTTON OR JOIN ME ON PATREON: / themobreporter
The Mob Reporter here with news of an arrest that marks the end of an era for Casper’s band of elite continental criminals, the old-school kind: swashbuckling pros, like we see in movies, pulling outrageous bank heists, crafty art thefts, and dazzling robberies that seize the public’s imagination in their native Spain.
Casper was considered a criminal mastermind. His real name was Ángel Suárez Flores. Together with another masterful thief, Juan Manuel Candela Sapieha, known as El Sapo, and others, Casper grabbed headlines for years for his antics. Including, police allege, Ventura Pacheco, nicknamed “Peru.” This is a wild ride into a rich, colorful underworld that barely still exists.

@MobReporter did you see the other recent arrests in the Canadian case of 1.5 tonnes recovered from a N.S. port, destined for a heavy machine repair shop in my neck of the woods, Brantford, Ont. An estimated 200 million load, first picked up was Kyle Purvis of Brantford and than just recently Vincento Capotaro (spl?) The owner/operator of the heavy machine shop. Others have been arrested too. I almost thought of walking to the courthouse to sit in on the hearing but I figured it would have been non-public or packed!!

I know the case well. It seems doubtful I'll be able to make a video about it anytime soon. There is not much in the way of video or photos available yet, because Canadian cops are, by and large, really lame on that front. I'm watching to see if there is visual evidence entered at trial.

@@TheMobReporter it's the 3rd chapter of the so called Trattativa Stato e mafia. Riina first and they had to stop the bombs. New government, the so called second Republic, new agreements. The "papello" requests are being "honoured" by the State, lighter prison regimes for mafia bosses in prison etc. Then Provenzano, sick and old got "arrested". Still part of the pact. Messing Denaro took his place and he took the mafia deep into the financial world, Milan, London, New York etc. Now he's sick, colon cancer and he gets "arrested" too. There is a new boss who now will enjoy the protection of the State and part of the secret services. The same protection the Provenzano and Messina Denaro had. The story continues, mafia, free masonry, deviated secret service, part of the State all united in a treacherous embrace. Makes me sick.

The thing is he probably lasted so long because he stayed in spain and stayed so close to the cops.. Most cops dont think people are ballsy enough to open up shopp on the same road as the station or similarly close. Whether its the EU or the US. Not to mention if they do track you to a remote area theres not many other people to hide around.. but the you need to worry about who you overshare too and if theyre a snitch.

What good is kilos of gold and millions of dollars if they can’t buy you comfort and pleasure? The “smart” criminals start with a discreet plastic surgeon and a new identity in a place where few or no questions are asked. Even then, will the police ever give up? You never know so you’ll be looking over your shoulder until they either catch you or age or sickness ends your tenure.

What's the point of stealing loads of money then sitting alone in some crappy shack? These people steal so they can have cool stuff without having to get off their lazy arse and work. Bigtimers like this guy want to live like king, so many can't resist flashing their ill-gotten gains. Things have got even worse with Social Media, with these morons usually flashing their expensive lives to followers (Skinny Joey Merlino for example, used to love Twitter etc bigtime Irish drug barons showoff their Mercs etc) Plus a lot of these criminals aren't exactly the cleverest haha!

Imagine being stupid enough to show yourself buying small buttons of gold like that? Indicative of small artisanal gold producten. None of that is licensed by the county of origin and can only come from hundreds of individual producers. They did not even try and hide this by remelting to larger bars and making a show of at least having some legitimate stock to mix it with.

I was thinking the same, I farm in Ghana and we have had a lot of problems with illegal gold miners here, looks exactly how they smelt the gold into small buttons that can be smuggled easily. A lot of the gold from Ghana ends up in Liberia being carried overland, where gangs buy it and can either smuggle it out on ships or through the desert to Libya. The final destination is either Spain or Dubai. I have a friend who sails a small 20ft fishing canoe along the coast of West Africa from Ghana to Morroco hugging the coastline all the way. Trading buying and selling as he goes up and down the coast. 4 or 5 months at a time. He admitted to me that he can smuggle raw tobacco, gold, hashish and marijuana without much interference from the authorities. He said people who try to smuggle hard drugs usually get caught as their is always money on the table for information. My former employer told me of a bulk shipment of Fertilizer he purchased that was shipped from Brazil to Liberia that had bags of cocaine in it. Once it was unloaded he was instructed to re-bag all of the fertilizer and give the black bricks to the immigration officer who would take care of it. Apparently, no police or drug enforcement officers turned up in the four days it took to re-bag. He claimed you could have 20 containers full of cocaine imported into Liberia and nobody would bother you.
