Making star garlands is my mom and I's new obsession! I can make one medium sized garland with 10 stars in under an hour. There is a very quick and easy tutorial here on youtube that works with basically any type of yarn (How To Crochet Christmas Star Garland [...] by Endless Diy Aart is the one I followed). Highly recommend as it's a fun pattern to make and you could crochet only the stars to use in a whole variety of projects. Thank you for the cute gift recommendations!

@@Lis_Kid WOW one hour for a whole garland?? I need to make that and so cute you do it w your mom 🥺

@carlascalling thank you! My mom taught me how to crochet and I help her read English patterns. We're going to a Christmas market together to sell our makes. Your video helped give me some ideas for some last minute items, so I'm glad I found your video 😊

I've been making all my gifts this year. I'm so glad I thought to start them back in September as I am on top of everything, i just have 3x keychains to do and 2 portraits to finish. Love all the recommendations, I really want to try the bauble design xx I saw a snowflake garland pattern on tiktok that looked so pretty

These were such good ideas! I’m just now getting into crocheting so I can’t do much more than a rectangle but some of these still seemed achievable for me! I’d love a crocheting simple things for beginners video! Maybe with some little hacks for switching yarn colors or something?

ooooo I’ll definitely try and brainstorm something that’s a great idea!! maybe also just like patterns you can make with one shape or something haha. There’s def some in here but I can think of more :) I’m so glad you found it helpful!

Inspired me to crochet fingerless gloves and a matching headband for my mother-in-law and nieces. Another easy-to-make idea is a crochet frame for pictures. I made one for my best friend, which took less than an hour. I am making green and red ones to put pictures of our family that won't make it for Christmas.

I made a strawberry stitch towel topper for my mom, just took a towel, folded it in half, made holes at the top and crocheted into each one, alternated the strawberry stitch, and alternated between the strawberries and decrease rows, then once I’d decreased it to my desired width I crocheted it long enough to hook over the oven handle, made a crochet loop at the end, and added a button!
@carlascalling10 күн бұрын
wait does this mean like a loop on the towel so you can hang it?? I've been wanting to make something like that for ages but haven't yet
@Geeky.rainbow.vampire10 күн бұрын
@carlascalling yep! It was my first time making one. I used a basic towel topper pattern, but added the strawberries

i make beanies if i need a last minute gift they're easy and quick + there are so many differnt kinds of beanies that you can make
@carlascalling10 күн бұрын
yesss people always say this but i think i'm just biased cause my first ever project was a simple crochet beanie and it def took me a long time and was very uneven lol. i'm making one as a gift this year so i'll finally be able to test how long it takes
@liesverschueren909710 күн бұрын
@@carlascalling its indeed also a good starter project and the better you get at crochet the faster a beanie is to crochet

Currently making a snowflake pillow for my sister, I'd say it takes about 5-6 hours?
@carlascalling10 күн бұрын
oh so cute!! are you freehanding it or following a pattern?
@karavandebeek10 күн бұрын
@carlascalling I found a little graph for the snowflake on pinterest, it's pretty much just repeating the standard rows after that, so a mix of both I guess
