There's one great gift that doesn't cost anything, & is the most appreciated by anyone who records, over & above anything else.......... THE GIFT OF SILENCE Hand write out a few vouchers promising the Booth Junkie in your life :- "1 hours complete silence!". That means no having the heating / AC on, no TV, no phone, no flushing the toilet or running the bath, & no interruptions. When you give us that it really is the best gift! :-D

I ended up connecting with George the Tech. Turns out he gets a number of appointments referred by the Booth Junkie himself. Said he'd be watching your videos to see how you're directing us in our voice over endeavors! Much appreciated for the tip. The meeting went great, thanks in no small part from your tips on sound treatment, reaper settings and equipment recommendations. Great stuff, Mike.

I just keep agreeing with this list. Everyone who cares about audio should have RX Elements. It's criminally cheap for how good the Voice De-Noiser is, alone. And of course FabFilter Pro-Q is the very best. I love being able to solo each individual band. Makes finding problem frequencies so easy.

This is a MUST HAVE for me. Bluetooth Remote. I've shopped around, my go to is the 8bitdo Zero 2. I'm slinging spit in my booth era-day. Getting in the moment is what its all about. Last thing I wanna do is hand-to-mouse to press record, stop, mark, undo, play, to name a few (worst thing is when you thought you hit record and you didn't). I program the hot keys to my little handheld controller. It's small and light enough to fit in my hand where i can flail my arms around. I also use one of the hot keys during those call back skype/source-connect (Discord is better folks) sessions to mute/unmute discord. Redoing a take is 1 buttons away! Comes with a rubber sling to put around my wrist so i won't drop it. I charge it maybe every 2-3 weeks. Only $20 folks, I do VO for a living, I own another in-case this one goes out on me. It's really tiny, I can imagine if you have larger fingers you'd want another style. Here's the link: www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Zero-Bluetooth-Gamepad%EF%BC%88Yellow-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B081HNH39K/ref=sr_1_37?crid=3DXGA2IGHVDDL&dchild=1&keywords=8bitdo+wireless+controller&qid=1608774428&sprefix=8bit+do%2Caps%2C257&sr=8-37

23:35 RX7 really feels like black magic at times, it’s literally a set of tools that once you’ve used them - there is no return to the before time, in the long long ago. Mouth De-Click is extraordinary, or with a proper profile for the algorithm to learn De-Reverb is fantastic. In addition to countless others. There are few items someone can drop $300 for in audio production that have a greater or more immediate impact on the quality of their work. Splice in particular has an outstanding program for those who are interested in getting the new RX8 Standard, but cannot drop $400 in a single go. I believe over 25 months, they have a really good rent-to-own arrangement, where for $16/month, you get the full RX8 Standard. After 25 payments over 25 months, you will own the program lock-stock-and-barrel. There is no interest, you can pause the plan then later continue, or if you wish you can cancel with no penalty. It’s really worth considering, I’ve done it with great satisfaction, and is a square deal.

Little AlterBoy and FutzBox look really interesting. I've signed up for trials of both, and I'm now trying to work out how I can justify buying these as Christmas presents for myself! For me, recording is a hobby, and I'm finding these videos really useful. I use the free version of Youlean Loudness Meter for level monitoring. I'm thinking of upgrading to the Pro version, and I reckon it would be a useful (and inexpensive) addition to anyone's plugin collection

No audio in video up to 1:37! Whatever you said looked like a nice thank/year wrap up talk and I could feel how sincere it was. So if that’s what it was the thought was communicated without the need for audio. Which is kinda funny since voice over is apart of the channel but acting and expression also plays a key role. Anyhow, letting you know I appreciate you too!!
