Only ever pull out the max 20k baht, the atm fees are killer. You are right, don’t convert in Australia, the Thai banks always give the best exchange rate. Better yet go in the bank and withdraw don’t pay the atm fees. Take 10k Aussie over and exchange at an exchange. Just to get you started

Its may be on the more expensive side but the shop has a sweet smoking area where you can also check out some plants growing. Swing by if you get a chance, I'd definitely like to see your review.

Yeah, I know exactly how it goes now. Unless I hide around the corner and make a Thai friend organise it for me I'm overpaying either way but I'll over pay the least amount 😂😂😂 I'm the same as you now. When it's convenient I'll jump on one, it's fun. I wish they'd understand that they'd make so much more money if they charged foreigners the regular price. However, I also understand it'd be better to stand around for an hour and make the same amount for 1 trip than you would've if you drove around doing cheaper trips the whole time.
