Hey Daniel, Maniacpoodle here! I haven't really played this in a while (our group played a regular game a couple of months ago), but it's really cool to see that my rules are able to inspire others, pretty much exactly what I hoped for when I wrote them. Love your channel, and take care!

Oh right on! Thanks for commenting! Glad I stumbled upon your rules - made me want to check the game out for solo play. :)

If you own Flying Frog's "Invasion From Outer Space" (IFOS) Game, you can combine it with "Last Night On Earth"(LNOE). IFOS plays almost the same as LNOE except it has circus performers versus Martians. So you can have heroes vs. zombies vs. Martians! You can even have zombie Martians! There is a fan made rulebook called "The Unofficial Complete Rulebook" that has all the combined rules for both games with the FAQ's incorporated. It also has solo rules.

Murders at the Manchester Morgue is a great film! And the countryside locations are close to where The Princess Bride was filmed. Really good for a weekend walk and some location spotting

One of my top three. My wife bought me every expansion and I still haven't had a need to crack them all open. No game can beat this game's loyalty to theme. Somehow, this "dumb" dice chucking game almost always has a photo finish. One of my fondest LNOE moments was when the sheriff's son got hit with the "Hey, baby, this could be our last night on Earth," which forces the victim and a female to lose a turn. This happened as his father was swarmed by zombies and was forced to detonate dynamite in his square to kill a horde. The boy saw his dad's sacrifice just after his special moment with the highschool sweetheart.

I created an excel spreadsheet that randomised the cards for s solo ruleset. It worked really well and mesnt to put it up on BGG, but I'd probably have to remind myself jow it works!

I think it was for a lot of people! Such a cool introduction to the hobby. It does a great job of capturing it's theme, and being a fun game.

Such an iconic game. I sold mine finally after years of holding onto it for nostalgia. Revisiting it never was as much fun as I wanted it to be, specifically because of the zombie player. Wish I’d tried this solo idea now haha. Thanks for the video!!!

It just works as a solo / co-op game.

Yea, I have this one from few months and trying to sell it because of lack of Solo but now I need to watch Your movie and maybe there is solution for this :D

I wasn't aware you were a such a big zombie fan, Daniel. Have you ever played Zombie Plague? I was ecstatic when Heroscape brought in Zombies ( I own 10 sets of them). Back in the day, on the Heroscapers fan site, there were a lot of folks really digging Last Night on Earth. I bought the base game and first big box expansion and like you, it fell flat for my household. I was dismayed. Are you still a fan of zombie games? I picked up The Night and enjoy Zombicide Black Plague and Undead or Alive. I also playtested Dawn of the Zed second edition (director's cut expansion) and make an appearance in the game as a 'Handy Electrician'. LOL. I may have to get out my copy of Last Night and give it a solo try. Thanks, Daniel.

Never played Zombie Plague. My favorite zombie game is Here's Negan - I think it's fantastic! I always wanted to like the Zombicide games more than I do. Black Plague is pretty cool - love the mix of fantasy and horror - but I don't love the game. Dawn of the Zeds is one that I admire, but it was a bit too complex for me.
@jonanjello2 ай бұрын
Yeah Dawn is a very complex. Zombie Plague is a freebie game based on the original Night of the Living Dead ‘house assault’ premise and was the first zombie game I played (2005-ish)
@chrisdonovan87952 ай бұрын
Although I see your point, I disagree about playing the zombie player. To play zombies well, you need to hold onto certain cards until a pivotal moment so that when something needs to go wrong, it does. You also need to do things other than swarm the players, such as stockpiling zombies at a place where the heroes need to go. I am intrigued by the solo rules though.
@TheDungeonDive2 ай бұрын
We just never found any fun at all in playing as the zombies. 4 out of 4 of us didn't like it.
@MelvLi2 ай бұрын
Is this game simular to Zombiecide out of box (apart from needing Zombie player) ? I know you gave up on Zombiecide due to lack of Theme / Emergent Narrative so it is probably what differentiates them as flying frog is all about theme / emergent narrative?
@TheDungeonDive2 ай бұрын
It feels more like a narrative skirmish game than Zombicide does. That's why I like it more. It feels like a narrative skirmish game, and nails that. It succeeds at what it's trying to be. I feel like Zombicide is trying to be a dungeon crawl, but it's not a very good one.

I've been on the fence with this for some time, but your video convinced me to pull the trigger. Thanks (?). 😛 By the way, White Dog Games' The Night is a great solo game that is a self-proclaimed homage to Night of the Living Dead. Small footprint, house-defense-until-dawn, simple rules, and a very cool black-and-white graphics vibe. Check it out. It has become my Halloween game.
