Try 9th Dawn III on switch. It's Rouge X Diablo. Not as deep, but similar.

P.s. I would be interested in watching a let's play, but maybe lower the music volume just a smidge. Cool music as you mention near the end but got a little loud during a crescendo shortly after you mentioned buying it. Would watch though! 🙂🙂

@@TheDungeonDive maybe! You can always find it in the early game from the snapjaw shotgunners, so it might not be the best. But there's a skill that allows you to kick a close range opponent when you pew at them. That might be a good fit for a early shotgun build. I'm a beginner myself. Just lost my longest living character Mega Axe, almost twenty hours and 40 000 turns gone. It was epic.

I must say though the game looks fun, the oversexualized women turn me off hard. It might be nostalgic to old ttrpgs and thats fine but it's not for me. I think there are other ways to let female characteres look cool and awesome. edit after seeing the whole video: Okay so the original version would have turned me off even more.. xD. To be clear: I don't say that its not okay to have more explicit art in a game. It's just nothing that appeals to me.

Ohhoo! This is one of my absolute favourite pc games ever. Love its weird fiction/purple prose(in a good way) styled writing. I've been on and off watching your videos and didn't know you cover also digital games! Anyways Caves of Qud definitely fits with your interests in adventure games where anything can happen. Btw have you played another recent pc rpg Skald: Against the Black Priory? Just finished the story and it was superb Ultima inspired Lovecraftian indie gem. Maybe the most atmospheric game of the year for me. I think you might love it. Live and drink, wanderer

Heys Daniel, I really liked your top ten dungeon crawler video, and was excited to find the campaign for the Secrets of the Lost Tomb remaster was still active. I got the all-in and started looking up more plays and if anything was available. I found three boxes of the original stuff for seven bucks each. I got two boxes of minis: the core boss monsters, and the boss monsters from the myths and legends expansion. I also got the expansion Atlantis - Mystery of the 13, the tiles are still on the sprues and its pretty much untouched. I'd like to send the expansion to you, whether you need it or to use as a giveaway. Is there a way to do that? ediT: forgot to include what game I was talking about.

Qud is great! I've been playing it on and off for years, despite never really getting very good at it. Maybe now that it's 1.0 I'll stick with it a bit and see how far I can get.

I hit 2000 hours exactly the day before 1.0 released. Caves of Qud has been out for two weeks, but it's been my favorite game for years! It's great to see it reach folks that enjoy it so thoroughly. Thumbs up with letting folks play how they want; The other game modes were added for good reason! Ain't a wrong way to play... Except maybe not looking at things. You gotta look to learn, and you gotta run to live! And drink!

3 of the nearly 1,000 videos are about video games. Lol. Don’t worry bro. Also, you gotta let people grow and express other interests. All of these hobbies really are a single hobby - play. It really doesn’t matter how or where they’re played.

marking as important means it warns you if you try to sell it, and if you throw/drop important things (like knives) you will auto-pick them back up when you auto-explore

I do love this game. Once started, I was constantly going back to play for a few hours at a time. However, one of my gripes was that once you complete each book, you have to reset everything (the board, village, characters, etc.). I understand that the game needs to restarts and everything is book specific, but I felt bad losing my map tiles, research, townspeople and all of my hard work.

Loved the analysis at the start as it focussed my understanding of my preferences to game experience. Also the best comment in the video, "I found the system got in the way of me having fun". That's the key to this, having fun. I like the 5 Parsecs/ Leagues/ Klicks system, but I come from miniature skirmish. I loathe the prescriptive fighting fantasy style books. Long may it continue that we like different things. I'm not sure I'm tempted to try solo rpgs as presented here but it's great to see what's available. I think I'll be continuing with the 5 P/L/K systems alongside game systems like Silver Bayonet / Forbidden Psalm - Last War. All skirmish games with a campaign element to a greater or lesser extent. They key for me is to find the challenge and variation without being bogged down with unneccessary procedure or being too constrained. I find a break and change of system also helps as each "system" has it's strong and weak points. Thanks for the vid

The genius of Space Hulk is that it is perfectly designed for situations where one person knows the rules and one person has never played. Just let the noob run the 'Stealers. Super forgiving, simple to understand and incredibly fun for them. I remember the evil fun of having a 'stealer blip that represented ZERO 'stealers (It was supposed to represent a "scanner malfunction". I think they may have removed this in newer revisions?) and tormenting the marine player by keeping it lurking just out of line of sight so he'd waste points keeping a terminator on overwatch waiting for me to reveal it. lol I always wanted to make multi-level 3d Space Hulk maps using Necromunda terrain from the old box set.
