This is just magical, we love Paul's work and this is such a detailed and clever design, it should get an award! I would love to see a play mat to accompany this with little roads and fields i know Paul would draw so well. Amazing work! Thanks DD for showcasing.

Having played this and Fallen land, I definitely prefer this in terms of art and presence. Both games have such a huge emphasis on narrative entries, which is the only gripe I have as it constantly interrupts the flow of gameplay. That being said, it is a fantastic experience and one of my favourite games!

I just finished fully sleeving and painting my entire waste knights set - both this and the base game highest available pledges! Is anyone out there after the whole lot these days? :)

Same mechanics, same regurgitated art, well overpriced means I finally didn't get this one and I think I'm done with their games sadly coz the art is amazing but repeated for years, gameplay is never great too.

There's a cool game mat you can purchase that combines the mini side map with the main board which I find works better.

I am stuck buying more and more decks and books and PDFs and everything that is recommended on the channel for getting into Scarlet heroes and white box solo gaming, I feel like I can never have enough and it's also creating kind of a huge project, which makes it more difficult to get started.Some of that has to do with my own no diversity, but I'm wondering what guidance you have in terms of how many tools are enough and which ones? I understand that the channel needs to review them all and you do such a good job describing product you like that I want to buy them all.

Hey Daniel, if you look at call of Cthulhu seventh edition, they have a push your luck option anytime you feel a skill roll. You can do it again, but if you fail, something really bad happens. I feel like this would be very easily to house rule. Maybe you get to make your attempt with double what you would normally have in terms of chancesbut then if you fail, you will get a bad keyword. Maybe we can look at what some good keywords are that could be used for this

My favorite is the Frozen wastes expansion where you save the princess. It’s very satisfying and Strategic in how you have to manage your turns due to frost and the White death

I received my copy a while back, but haven't gotten it to the table yet. Super disappointed to hear about the app issues. Even more disappointed that this is going to embolden the anti-app crowd, who are already loud enough, thank you.

I really wanted to like this game for solo play, but it always felt like it was a bit much to manage and had limited solo play when it was re-released. From your opening shot, it looks like the expansion made it even more of a table hog! It does feel like it could be a game that would benefit tremendously from an app so that's really strange that it's missing.

I've debated picking this one up quite a few times, will probably not be doing so anytime soon.

I like the base game and this expansion. There is a ton of content in this expansion. Totally agree with your suggestion to have a website to replace the old companion app. There are some suggestions, fixes and fan content posted on Board Game Geek to check out. Yeah my friend and I played the base game and had fun until we realized we were taking our time exploring when the game wanted us to move quickly and then it was like "surprise! Here's an entire different way to play the game you couldn't have anticipated! Oops you waited too many turns to get here, one of you dies! Now one of you can continue playing for 2 hours if you like!" The sandbox was 100% why I got the expansion. Maybe one of my old phones can download the app...

I actually do like this game, and this expansion. However i was pretty disappointed in the sandbox modes. I was hoping for a boss kill mode in sandbox. Not just gather or visit things. Its also a bit deceptive in my opinion for having 2 sandbox modes but they seem essentially exactly the same.

I sold mine on, i just couldnt get into this game and i was surprised as the theme is awesome.

The Cover at least for warrior witch, was drawn by Boris Vallejo in the 1980s and as originally on a calendar from that time. And later just used as the book cover. Boris has an awesome catalog of weird fantasy art (mostly sexually charged) but cool nonetheless

Definitely LOOKS cool. Someone put some effort into the design. Secret passages are about as cool as I can imagine, given the limitations of cost and such. The "DM" "screen" is also quite cool! Love those mummies too, quite cool. When they rounded up some kids to playtest this, I wonder what the kids thought back in 1992? Funny how I keep discovering new dungeon crawling games. When I was a kid, AD&D had just come out. And I didn't have a dungeon crawler board game until I was probably in my late teens, and it was Dungeon Quest or something, from Games Workshop. A nice review, I enjoyed it. It's hard to pick my favorite Dungeon Crawler, but I have to say Descent is super fun, just...long :) I looked at ebay price, unsurprisingly, nostalgia is expensive, they want 100 USD or so ( and shipping would add over 20 USD.)

I am always on the hunt for cool games like this, but always get turned off when I can't fit it on my current table. I only have a limited space as well.

Man I love this mans games mostly cause I love the art. The games are fun too I find myself mostly playing tin helm cause of the ease of setup and quick simple play.
