A true story. I managed to complete all three Ninja games on the C64, but it took me years to do it. The third one took me until the mid 90s. In the mid 2010s I replayed all three games to see if my brain and hands were up to it. Back then they still were and I remembered things and how to do stuff. One thing I remember having nightmares about was The Basement in LN2. Years went by in the late 80s/early 90s for me to figure out where the poison was and then how to jump on the boxes. Every time I hear this music I'm back there, more than 30 years ago, stuck. And then one day I figured it out. But this level, for me, is the most haunting one. I love the music but love/hate the memories. Hard games, but they did open up the mind. Those were some amazing times for games in general. You approached them with caution because you knew they were going to smack you in your face.

Also for added fun each time you switch the lights on/off you get 500 points... you can do this as much as you like to boost your score.

I have a lot of Xerox(yes people, that was what people called copy machines back in the 80's), copies of those same magazine pages that I paid about .10/page to copy off those same magazine tips/tricks at the regional library. The trick was to get there before all of the older kids would get to it and rip out the pages like the jerks they were. No way my parents would spring for anything but Time and Nat Geo subscriptions to our house and I think most of those personal computer mags even back then were about $1.10 and up so, that was my only option to fuel my C64 addiction, haha.

My thoughts exactly. The 64 games included in the mini were definitely not the best 64. I'd say a quarter are good another quarter playable and the rest not worth putting on. The key to it was to use the MODE CHANGE option by pressing "J" on the keyboard, pressing J twice would make it so which ever direction you tapped it would face that way, it made it tons easier. J Twice, then tape the joystick the direction you wanted to face then J to revert back to default control.
