Never heard of The Strokes before! This was really easy to listen to, his voice is really nice, but I thought he looked like he should still be in school! I think it's the older we get, the younger they look these days. I enjoyed the simplicity of this song, but I agree, none of them really looked like they wanted to be there.

@kimr3729 Right! Especially the lead singer. I think he was putting on the teenage angsty thing were they pretend they don't care haha. Great song though. Thanks Kim 🥰💗

Every song on Is This It are amazing Soma , Is This it , The Modern Age ,, Take it of Leave it etc Take your pick The Album is a masterpiece The hype around the Strokes was crazy in 2000 / 2001 They played in my local bar called Brownies round the corner from my apt Brownies was on Ave A between 10th and 11th I lived on 11th between A and B Yeah , Yeah , Yeahs started out there too Ryan Adams was hanging around too, I love his album New York Anyway a very exciting time and Strokes brought back Guitar Rock There is a documentary based on great Book called Meet me in the Bathroom , i wont explain title but yes lot of Bathroom with lots of people together inside Only negative i can say is Strokes were a bunch or rich kids playing at slumming it Anyway after that ramble Check out Documentary Meet me in the Bathroom You will love it

This song is so much fun, it's cool because it's so simple. I would like to hear more Strokes. What? Best song of the decade? No accounting for taste...😄

First listen for me, agree fun catchy song. I was thinking the guitar riff sounded oddly familiar, thanks for pointing out American Girl. I was racking my brain trying to remember where I heard it before. In regards to publications like Rolling Stone Magazine ranking this song in the top whatever for whichever decade, I'd take that with a grain of salt. Jimmy Page once said if you bought all the albums recommended by RSM, you'd have the worst record collection the world. Jann Wenner co founder of the magazine and sits on the board of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a big influence on who gets inducted into the Hall. These guys in power dictate what good music is and what we should listen to. They decide who gets in the hall and who doesn't. There are artist imo have no business being in the Rock Hall, while you have a ton of great bands that are still waiting to get in. Just based on my interest in music, these magazines and critics are full of you know what.

@JeromeDukes Hey Jason, I am glad I could introduce you to this one. It is a cool song but I don't believe it deserves the accolades that it got from those sources 😊🩵

the one great thing about this particular performance is that at the time of taping the video youve reacted to, theyve already toured so much with their setlist, it made them perfect every single song to the point of it sounding the same if not better in comparison to the studio version. and your take on them not wanting to be in frame made me giggle cuz to me (being younger takes its toll i guess lol) its common sense for a set of growing rockstars to show their non-chalantness and the rebellious idgaf attitude in full force to everyone watching, thats a point proven by their "half drunk", tossing across the stage, unsyncopated movements throughout the video. another cool fact about this tape is that all the different cuts to different camera angles were made mid performance, live, with a crew of people coordinating every change of scene. thats why there are some frames missing, replaced by some static tv image instead. their garage rock rawness keeps going through the entirety of their catalog up until their last record, ''The New Abnormal'', id recommend listening to ''Meet Me In The Bathroom'' off of their second album and/or ''Trying Your Luck'' and then comparing it to, imo, their best song, "The Adults Are Talking" to see the drastic change in their style and sound through the years. kind regards from Russia edit. the adults are talking also has a great video to it, giving an insight into how every band member aged, which is always fun to watch upon, at least for me that is lol

Pretty good song for sure, Sue .. But nowhere as good IMHO as what those magazines you mentioned seemed to think .. And yes, I can definitely hear Tom Petty's "American Girl" in that guitar work .. I've heard a few songs by The Strokes that I like, but can't think what they are called now .. But I'll just trust your judgement if you wanna pick out another Strokes song.😉

@wayne_twentyfive I agree, Wayne. I really like this song but I don't think it lives up to the kudos it got from those sources. I gotcha. I will choose some other songs by them. They have some other good ones 🥰💜
