Just saw where Tom Owen/ Tom Simmonite passed away back in November 2022.....he was only 73! 😣 His father, Bill Owen/Compo Simmonite died at 85... Love these episodes , keeps them all alive in a sense. ❣️

Great story I heard about Peter Sallis. When Nick Park was making Wallis and Gromit and had little money he approached Peter Sallis (Clegg) about doing the voice. And Sallis agreed to do it for nothing as Park was skint, he said “if it’s successful then you can pay me”. What a guy!!!

Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
