Mark Harmon, gold seal characters fit for any era. Real like the wholesome values portrayed here, cop not harassing the boys even when riding near curfew, boys praying before going to sleep (a realistic one at that), finally what california was like during ww2.

The best characters. The show went downhill after Foggy left and Compo died - and the final few years were not the quality of the earlier years.
