Last Potato reveal 2023| good progress on new growing space| Man Cave Repairs|
I do my last potato reveal for 2023 variety 'Maris Piper' its not too bad but certainly not the best yield i've had. A quick look in the greenhouse shows that the overwintering salad crops are doing well.
Then its into the man cave where I've been busy replacing a damaged piece of worktop, the new one is wider and better for storage etc.
Finally, I have a walk and talk around the Micro-Orchard where I have progressed really well with the new growing area (previously a soft fruit bed) I have managed to do 3/4 of the breeze block edging already so off to a good start! I also discuss further plans for over the winter months.

I always get a feeling of 'OCD' with potato 'reveals' I keep spotting the really small ones escaping, but not this time! Despite the efforts of companies and others to complicate my life with 'energy deals', 'internet options' and apps to access public services, I stand by the perspective that the happiest and most productive people are those who spend their time 'reducing complexity' in their lives to allow them to do what they actually want to do. Lovely post, I love what you share with us all. Loving the 'journey'.

Hi Patrick Yes indeed; plenty going on here. I love our greenhouse and that I can walk out of the back door and pick salad leaves etc! That new worktop is brilliant and so much better now. Have a great weekend 👍

Fab potato 🥔 harvest Woody 👍. Oh I love a good marketplace buy and repurpose. It’s always fun. To do experiments and bean cross pollination will be fun. My maple is still green 😢 I’m waiting for it to go it’s gorgeous red. We are near the freeway so hear them a lot especially at night. I was pleased with the spuds and love my new workbench! Yes, interesting to see what may come from those bean seeds next year. Wow! I bet your maple tree is gorgeous in it's autumnal glory. Thanks so much I was pretty pleased with the results. I'd really struggle without a man cave 😂 Yes, that is going to be a nice space to grow some other crops in ( perhaps stuff that would take up too much room in the beds at home) ATB 👍👍👍

Good morning Woody. The counter top looks super. I like the idea of getting rid of the old carpet. When I was gardening in America I had some weed block fabric that was of poor quality and a pain to pull up and get rid of. Cheers. 🍺🍺

Hello Bob Yes, I got lucky there my friend ( but I have waited a long time for the right piece to turn up!) Yeh, it will be nice to get rid of the carpet over the winter, then I will put down good quality weed block fabric where needed. Cheers 🍻

We do get through a lot of leeks Steve (especially if we run short of onions), but some might go to my mates stall if he needs any. ATB 👍👍
