He is one who is patient by accepting trials by Allah especially this one where the saudi government does not renew his contract due to him not supporting the good relations they have with Isreal.

The people higher up (king of Saudi) asked him to resign as it will look bad on them if they 'fired' him. Because it could very much be possible that this is his final salah. Sheikh Shuraim's Twitter account was suspended, and then eventually deleted by the Saudi Government. Allah knows best, but maybe his connection with the Saudi Government could have caused him to resign. Or this could've been on his own will. Again, Allah knows best. Sheikh Shuraim has been on my favorite reciters and still is one of my favorite reciters. I really hope that this is false.

Supposedly, Sheikh Shuraim has resigned from being an imam at Masjid Al-Haram. This could be false, but it also kind of makes sense seeing that Sheikh Yasser was appointed as Khateeb. Allah knows best.
